Translated :

According to information from the team, the Tottenham chairman Daniel
Levy must go to Madrid Monday to meet leaders
Real. The strong man of the London club dream to work services
Klaas-Jan Huntelaar, the Dutch striker 25 is under contract
until 2013.

The former striker of Ajax could suffer from competition from David
Villa, Real priority even Ruud Van Nistelrooy, he remains. It goes
back injury and was replaced Huntelaar in January.
Last summer, Tottenham had already advanced his pawns but for Huntelaar
had to sign Roman Pavlyuchenko, who did not yield
expected (5 goals in 28 matches)

Villa is done too......(to Madrid)

and the stuff about huntelaar is true from what I have heard. 1 year loan with option.

Also hearing that Silva to Liverpool if not United, Valencia won't sell Villa and Silva to Real Madrid.

RVN gone quiet....may have been a "smokescreen" to talk to them about Huntelaar knowing that Real Madrid are bringing players in and he may be farmed out.

From my point of view, and from what has happened in the past, I wouldn't be surprised by this. The move for him, I mean. I'm dubious as to whether he'd want to come to Spurs, definitely.

I still stand by the rumour we made a last ditch attempt for him on transfer deadline day, from Ajax, last year. He then moved to Real in January.

So the fire is still burning, so to speak.

Half the battle these days is getting a player feeling like he is wanted by or at a club, if we have been chasing him in Jan, and were back in for him now with Levy heading over, then this guy should feel some of the Lillywhite love  It wooed Berbatov when Jol was giving him cuddles, so Mr Huntelaar should feel all tingly. :hump:

In that case, we would be the 'second-rate English club' he referred to. :-|

I think Manchester City came in for him as well, but I can't remember if that was in January, when he went to Real Madrid.

If he referred to us as second rate, he can do one! :hello:

However, if he joins and then declares his love for the club he supported as a boy, he's welcomed aboard.

Where did he say that?

Seems really odd Real Madrid are looking to get shot already as would think he would lap up the service from all there fancy players, new and present, but I guess they tend to treat players like toys and discard them when they're bored...

Kinda makes me sick to be honest how the Spanish Government keeps bailing them out and how they're allowed to operate on such large debts...

I wonder if 'Arry is able to give as effective cuddles as the big man was able to though...

I miss Jol...

Its the 1 year loan option I don't like.

We either buy him, or not. Loans are all well and good, but to me, they just aren't in it for the club.

I suppose with Van Persie and Kuyt there is competion for his international starting place so he might want to move where he'll play regularly. Especially as the likes of Sneijder, Babel, van der Vaart, Vennegoor of Hesselink offer possibilites of changing their formation to 4-3-3.
Plus Villa, Kaka and Ronaldo will all demand starting places at Madrid.

Still don't see it myself though.

Mido was excellent on a loan.

Huntelaar hasn't had the best reception at Real despite a decent return on goals so a loan could be a good move, he will more than likely commit to a loan then we can work on impressing him as a club, as opposed to him making a commitment to step down to Spurs and sign up for 5 years of his life.

He's a lot better than Bent, but quite similar in style.

Don't expect any other contribution to the side other than goals.

Would prefer a hold up #9 to a goalscoring one.

I'd be surprised if its a loan tbh. Madrid need the money and i cant see him going back there. It hasn't worked out for him there (he hasn't been given a chance mind) and a new president means several players will be sold. I like him and think it would be a great signing. Not the type of striker i'm hoping for (a drop off striker to hold the ball up), but one that scores plenty of goals. Goals are good. I like goals.

At the end of the day if no CL club wants him, which I can imagine they do. It's us or City.

Last summer. I'll try and find the quote later, but it was something along the lines of 'a second-rate English club wanted to make very rich'. As City certainly put in a late bid, it was thought to refer to them.

Perez wants a Spanish spine.

Before anyone gets too excited, his dream is to emulate RvN and play for United, and there are rumours he's tied in with the Ronaldo deal somehow.

I haven't seen a lot of Huntelaar but is he the kind of striker who could partner Keane or Defoe or would he be another Bent/Pavlyuchenko who offers goals but doesn't seem to contribute a lot more to the team? If he doesn't contribute more than goals, surely it would be better to a) go for someone like RVN who is excellent at holding the ball up too or b) buy two stikers, one being Huntelaar and the second someone who works with him.

And without the pace—if anything, he's rather more like Pav.

But better in the Dutch league so it's difficult to compare accurately. I'm not sure it would be a good move swapping Bent for a player of similar style. Generally all the critism of Bent has been because of his style so surely the save would be true of Huntelaar?
