Just finished watching Football First and I was pleased with his debut, nothing amazing but considering it was his first game in away match for a struggling team I think he did well. Jenas on the other hand was poor, can't tackle (almost gave away a pen), can't pass, no skill, he is just generally a bad footballer that scores the odd goal now and then. The only thing he seems to have going for him is good positioning so he intercepts the ball quite well so maybe he can be a defensive mid if he gets some muscles and improves his tackling.

Yes, it looked as if he'd been taking a snooze on the touchline when they re-marked it.

I thought he played very good actually. Too bad he had the premierships most overrated player jenas beside him.

indeed - JJ bad - KPB good. hope KPB alongside DZ on thursday...

he...can PASS!

I see a future for him. He is good. I think everybody is expecting a taarabt/lennon style player in him, but i see more of a passing player, sort of like carrick, except more attacking minded.

The player that Jenas was supposed to be.

On an aside: Jenas is useless.

Looked good from Football First considering it was his first game in the League. Tidy little player with a bit of aggression, can't remember the last CM we had who flew into a tackle.

I hope he gets plenty more games. We won't get any more out of the others we've seen already.

I think KPB had a good game v Middlesbrough, and I did not like that he was the one that had to go out. I thought Jenas had a bad game, and he should have been subbed with Zokora. I would like to see a midfield with Zokora and Boateng together.

I would like to see a midfield with:

Lennon --- Zokora --- Prince Boateng --- Taarabt

* This gives us a lot of pace in midfield, and we also have good substitutes on the bench. I believe that this midfield are able to play some good posession football, and would be able to take on defenders. If we have players with quick feet, it is possible to play a good posession football, which is great to watch, and also usually creates a lot of chances.

A decent prem debut, he looks comfy on the ball and a decent passer, most pleasing though he actually tackles and gets stuck in, which is more than JJ and Zokora do, so definately worth perservering with.

I really liked what i saw. He didn't do anything great but he showed that he has an allround game and is certainly capable of playing in the middle of a 442, which I don't think any of our other CMs can (though JJ can in theory). I'm sick of having these half arsed CMs who can do somethings well and other things poorly.

Do you not think Huddlestone would be a better addition in a team that would rely on POSSESION football?

Jenas was poor but so was Zokora. I really think Tainio and KPB would be a good, steely combination. I watched the whole game and bothe JJ and Zoko were anonymous - Zoko really can't pass and JJ is just a ghost at the moment, and who's afraid of ghosts now that the Ghostbusters have come to town?

I thought he was ok, no more no less, though I always take note of Joey's comments so am inclined to the positive. What it did make me wonder is why Jol never played him, except once (out of position?) in a game that effectively was finished before it started.

Am I right in remembering KPB nearly went to Sevilla this summer?

If that's the case then Ramos abviously rates him and he may get more of a look in than people think?
