And been pretty awful. He's a right back.
Feel sorry for him. This is exactlly what we did to Kyle Naughton, play him on the wrong side of the pitch making it really hard for him and then slag the fk out of him for looking shit. I cant understand what managers expect to get out of that.
Do they think he's gonna be ok wherever he plays he's that good?
Do they think it'll do him good?
I dont get it.

He’s never a left wing back. His left foot is not good enough to play there and his reliance on his right get’s him into trouble.

Southampton would be a great loan for him.

If he gets some regular game time there, he can prove he’s ready for this level.

I won't mind too much if/when that happens, but "can't wait"? Bit odd

No, I simply think the difference between KWP and Trippier at RB/RWB is pretty minimal and I like the idea of us going with youth/upside and then I think of a club offering over £20m for Trippier = “can’t wait.”

He's played on the left plenty of times for our youth and england. He played left back in the world cup final.

Thats against players his own size and ability not a team of D2 lumps up for a fight, which Poch should have know was going to be the case.
It was always going to be a physical battle in shite conditions. Was bloody asking for trouble playing Foyth plus Kwp out of position then on top of that 2 upfront so bugger all in midfield. I found that line up breath takingly naive and you could see after 5mins we were in trouble.
A lot of youth players even at international level may not even end up at D2 level.
Looked well out of his depth which he didn't when he played on the right against pl opposition.

I'd like to see KWP become 2nd choice RWB next season, especially if we revert back to playing 3-4-2-1 / 3-3-3-1 when Toby is fit again. A loan out to a championship side where he will play every week between now and the summer will toughen him up a bit, which appears to be what he needs after quite a limp display on Saturday.

I would have to consider my future if I was him, if I was unable to get in front of Trippier.

Trix said there might still be a couple of loans out - I wonder if KWP is one of them we are looking to do.

Hopefully a Prem loan where he will get a few games. If he does well I’d say Trippier will be off in the summer.

The thing is, who would likely play him in the PL? Would a team fighting relegation use a kid? Is he good enough to get game time for anyone not fighting relegation?

Genuine questions by the way.

Maybe we should give him a chance before deciding what positions he can and can't play? How many times have our fans done this and been proven wrong? He will have good games and bad, but he will learn each time.

I don't get where the Trippier hate is coming from. I think he has been a lot better and more consistent than Aurier this year.

But we're not going to give up on Aurier after one season are we? Personally I think overall Aurier has looked the more promising not to say Trippier is a poor player.

I think Serge will improve next season as he gets acclimatised to the league too. We can't have 3 RBs so something has to give if KWP does indeed continue to knock on the door.

Hope if he does get a loan it’s somewhere he’ll start. No point going to play backup to Cedric for 14 matches (cup tied in FA Cup).

I think KWP needs a loan out to gain more experience. I'd personally get him out now for a few months and then give him a year long next year. Still very raw and not consistently at the level we need yet.

I just wonder if there exists this late in the January window a team which either A) has no first choice RB and was willing to wait on the offshot we let KWP go or B) Has such out of favor RBs they would take KWP and slot him in. I'd imagine neither exist unless someone breaks a leg here soon.

Better to have a loan if it means more first team game time than sit around waiting. I firmly believe it helps players develop in all sorts of ways. Also I don't get the anger at the game on Saturday and him playing on the left. Sure he didn't cover himself in glory but tough experiences can be the making of players and are necessary in development. Also Poch has continually shown he requires players to be versatile, to play to plans, to adapt; sure all have their best positions but it is the team that counts.

That before or after we get knocked out of the cup? Anyway I'm not blaming him or Foyth or even Llorente. I'm blaming Poch for putting us in that position.
