A price of £50m would be a little disappointing but for me the bigger disappointment would be selling him - or any of our top players - to a rival team in the EPL.
It shows the world that all Abu Dhabi FC have to do is open up another oil well to pay for almost any players they want.
Their "club" motto really should be: "If you can't win it, buy it. "

True but they see it more as "buy it to win it" unfortunately is modern football.

If Pereira proves a success at £20m (ish) then suddenly selling Walker for £50m doesn't seem so bad.
He was successful as part of a unit, not individually so key. Trippier has already slotted in at Spurs without impacting the defensive unit.
Will he be as successful as part of City's defence?

Walker, Kompany, Stones, Clichy/Kolarov
Or
Trippier, Alderweireld, Vertonghen, Rose

Which defence is likely to be stronger, you choose.

I don't think £50m is too cheap, I think it's just about right in the current market. It would make him joint most expensive defender ever.

Not sure about anyone else but I'd actually be very disappointed if it was only £50million. Stones was £47.5mil, yes he's younger but walker is in the prime of his career and we'd be selling to a direct rival!!!! I'd hope we're going for minimum £60mil but starting the asking at £80mil, seriously let's not fuck around here, so disappointed with this if it happens as he's a bloody good player and it would be directly strengthening our rival :( Trippier is good and I'm sure Potch can develop him more but still 100% prefer to keep Walker.
I should maybe have clarified but my "good" was more in reaction to Levy refusing to budge and it causing City to get frustrated

£50m I could live with tbh. Let's get it done and get Pereira in to replace him.

Pereira, would he even come to spurs, knowing the likes of arsenal & co will pay him double, whatever way u dress this up to be a good deal if... assumes a level playing field in the transfer window... which we know is not

obvious Walker was a problem in the spurs squad last season - is it even worth us holding out for such money if he's a problem?

How was it obvious to us as fans until after the semi-final when there was talk of city's interest, most of us probably didn't have any inkling of walker causing unrest or being unsettled.

Have you factored selling to a rival club into your valuation? I'd say any of the top 6 PL clubs should expect to pay something like a 50% mark-up on key players from their rivals.

Shaw went for £30m three years ago and was far less proven. On average, transfer fees have probably almost doubled since then. I can't see anyone paying close to £70m for van Dijk, but that valuation does put things into perspective for what we should demand if we don;t want to sell a player.

I could live with 50 mil from any team outside of the PL top four. Considering the amount City are splashing and have splashed, I would not be happy to let him got to them for anything under 60 mil.

Suppose there is a chance that Man City might actually hold back on this one and only pay what Levy wants nearer the start. They know that Walker will be training hard so will be pretty fit, and should be able to fit in as Pep likes his full backs to play high up the field. If they hold back on buying Walker now knowing we won't replace until he has gone, then the longer it goes the less time we have to sign a replacement and get him fit for the start of the season.

The trouble is we don't have enough experience at right back if Walker goes, and City know that. If we really are looking at Pereira perhaps the best thing we can do is go get him now, that way he will be ready for the season, and if City wants a fully up and running Walker they pay the price now, or the same for a player that won't of played much football in the pre season

We've got Trippier who will be fine for the start of the season which will give any new players a bit of time to get up to speed.

Think £50m is a fair price personally.

It would be the record fee for a full back wouldn't it? More money would be nice, but at his age City probably won't get much resale value from him.

Since they were bought by the oil sheikhs, I haven't seen much evidence of them being concerned about resale values.

Let's not sign anyone then since no one is going to walk into our 1st eleven.

It wouldn't make much sense for Kelechi to go to Spurs at this stage in his career, he needs games and he needs to be a consistent starter, he's been linked to West Ham which isn't a bad move for him because they'll pay him a lot of money and he'll be their no1 striker.

If there was no interest from City or anyone in particular and I came on here out of the blue and asked "if Walker was to be sold how much should we ask for him" how many of us would have said £50million or more? Be honest.
