I don't know why I'm bothering to respond as I'm fully over the Walker thing now.

Trippier isn't anywhere near as good as him, hence Walker starting much more games than him. "How can Trippier create... blah blah" he wasn't playing because he isn't as good.

They are defenders predominantly and Trippier's one significant strength is that he can cross. He is obviously going to be more productive than Walker, as Walker is mostly inept when attacking.

Respectfully, not one thing you have posted in this thread/exchange has had any point.

I like Walker so I'm not going to try and knock him at all, but didn't Poch say at one point that Trippier would have played more games, but his baby was causing a few issues? I assume he means with keeping him awake and stuff. Or did I just imagine that?

The above is being discussed on Blue Moon.

Are deals like that commonplace?

It feels very odd for Spurs to have a financial incentive for City to win things. Suppose we had secured 3rd with 37 games and our last game was against City, who were fighting for the title. The other club in contention would have every reason to get shirty if we lost.

If that's correctly then it's not a maximum of £5m add-ons. The way it's worded looks like it could be a few million each season depending on what they win or qualify for.

We wanted him out because he wanted to go and he wanted to go because city tapped him up. So who has won City or us?

Maybe you have hit the nail on the head with that statement. Whilst 'tapping up' is obviously illegal in the football world it occurs. To that end I am certain that the likes of Harry Kane, Dele Alli and Eric Dier (to mention just three) would have also been subjected to secret approaches. The point is they are not interested in leaving and such 'enquiries' are blunted by the player before the club has to make a stand. In Walkers case perhaps City heard of his unrest and possible fall out with Poch so 'came a calling'. Then the scene was set, unhappy player and very annoyed manager...transfer the only option. I still think that the valuation of £50m though is excellent business by Tottenham. As I said before, I genuinely thank the lad and wish him well but there will be no tear in my eye as I wave farewell just a look to the future.....and I think Trippier can do the job.

excellent business by us to get the fee, just wish it was a a non PL team. Normally I would wish a loyal spurs player well but in this case I kinda hope he has a mediocre career at City :).

Kyle Walker @kylewalker2·2m

Honoured to announce I have signed for @ManCity. Had an amazing time at @spursofficial but can't wait to start this new chapter with #MCFC!

Lol Honoured? Yeah such a prestigious club that he slagged off afew years back now he's honoured?

"Honoured" to be joining a tinpot mafia outfit who a few years ago were perennial relegation candidates and who currently play in a half empty stadium to plastic fans already bored of the trophies they've bought?

Yeah, what an "honour".

I suspect that all this negativity concerning Walker may have been created by the PR team at Spurs. Why? To make it more palatable that the Club is selling one of the best right backs in the world to a direct rival.
You are right, I'm payed by Levy to go on here and post that Walker is dogshite. Every time I use "dogshite" I receive 1 penny now and 1/10 of a penny over the next 50 years. Every time I write "Trippier will become better anyway", I earn a performance bonus of 1 penny per rating (good, bad or otherwise), paid out in equal instalments over 1000 years.

Trippier will become better anyway, Walker is dogshite, so dogshite.

The above is bollocks. Funny to put it all in a graphic to try and make it look more realistic though.

Cheers Kyle. Enjoyed your "Triple H" water spitting when you ran out for a second half. And your thunderbastard against the Goons.

Jenas having a meltie about us strengthening a title rival. It's not like City had no other options after Walker and were just going to call a youth player up! Granted he's a one of the PLs best RBs but he's not exactly Cafu, or even Dani Alves.

“I am thrilled to be signing for City and can’t wait to get started,” Walker said.

Pep Guardiola is one of the most respected managers in the world and I feel he can help me take my game to a new level.”

Txiki Begiristain, the Club’s Director of Football, added: “Kyle is a fine full-back, one capable of producing quality at both ends of the pitch.

“We’ve followed his progress at Tottenham and have been really impressed by how he has developed. He is now one of the best right-backs in the Premier League and justifiably an England regular.

“I am sure he will be a success at Manchester City this season and beyond.”
