Perhaps even their entire existence - they were in serious trouble when Abramovich came along.

Edit: I wrote the above before clicking the link and I'm now annoyed as I hold the BBC to higher standards than this. He actually says that he left Tottenham for a new challenge having been with us for 9 years and also trots out a generic line about playing with world class players and winning trophies, making no reference to Spurs in the process. The BBC have gone for a clickbait headline.

It is a clickbait headline, I realised that as soon as I watched it - but it's not fundamentally untrue. I'm not sure why you say he makes no reference to Spurs - he specifically says Spurs came close to winning things but we're missing a final ingredient - so the implication is City have that (which they do) and are more likely to win trophies than Spurs (which they are).

It's completely fair enough, he says he gave us eight years and in that time we made huge progress, but now he wants a new challenge and to win things, which is what he'll get at City.

That's because I misread it. D'oh!

I'd piss myself laughing if they get Danilo and he establishes himself as first choice right back.

Yeah I'm a **** I know. :playful:

Dirty Man City just throwing stupid money at problems, cheap win if they win anything.

Played really well apparantely.

He literally did nothing, I watched the game and was constantly wandering if he'd been subbed off

Don't know who to believe lol...but I'll take the second one as I want nothing more than Pep to fail and it to curtail and impact Walker's desire for trophies. Don't wish any ill will towards Walker, but yeah, I love City losing.

I'd say it was a mixed bag - showed his pace a few times, but also showed that when he gets the ball on the wing, his first thought is to cut the ball back to a midfielder rather than attack the goal.

I think its going to take Pep a few games to get everyone playing the way he wants. They obviously have some great attacking players, but they still looked a bit out of sorts in defense.

Not being funny, he was admittedly a great player for us eventually, but I would Keegan love it if he never wins anything whilst there. And we go on to get a couple of cups or even a league title.
That would be oh so sweet.
Like your ex leaving you and then you score the hotter, younger, more adventurous girl.
And you post many pictures on Facebook about it.

Let's remember we are now discussing a Manchester City player here people....personally I therefore have no interest whatsoever in his performances for them, good or bad.....in the words of the film Frozen.......Let It Go ! Let It Go ! :p:p

I put a 'like' here as Walker, throwing his toys out of the pram when he was dropped for Wimmer, indicating to me he was not a squad player ~ leaving for City was disloyal and indicates he puts money before club. I shan't mourn his leaving.

My philosophy re his departure? Get over it and get on with life.

Conte has said we rejected a bid from his racist club for Walker, I don't think they understand we don't do business with them

I thought Walker was 'good' in his time with us but 'outstanding' in his last season, until the very end. I'm not gonna be bitter and I certainly wanted to keep him, loved the intensity he bought and thought it went well with the way Poch likes to play. Certainly tough to see him go, genuinely thought he would be with us for his career and even he thought that last season until something happened, citing the words himself.

I'm not sure if Trippier will be better but when watching Trippier it's nice to think that something creative might actually come from him. Even against Roma the other day, it was our first good chance I think when Trippier played a great low ball in towards Kane who I think had his shot blocked. It was so simple (albeit not easy) yet we still never saw that nearly enough from Walker.

I loved Walker and he said he thinks Pep can take him to the next level but he has to question himself in that he never learnt to cross the ball well in all his time here. He has to take responsibility for that at least.

I listened to an interview with him on five live on Monday night (in their football show) and he came across alright. Sounds like he really loves Spurs but it was just time to move on. He actually sounded sincere. Obviously it was about the cash but he sounded like there was no hard feelings when he left.

(Hopefully we make him look like an idiot on the weekend though!)

I think the social media silence from THFC players is very telling on how things were when he left!
