As he embarks on his seventh season as a Spur, Erik Lamela is as enthusiastic as ever – and ready to help the next generation of players step into the fold.

Maybe he can concentrate on staying fit and playing more than 1200 minutes in a season of first team football.

This is a guy who always gives his best.
I hope we retain him beyond his playing career as I suspect he has a lot to offer in attitude and self-belief

He's played around nineteen games a season since joining us. That really is a poor return considering that over the past four years the team has averaged around fifty eight games a season in all competitions.

For me, if he was sold it wouldn't be a great loss given them stats, and the fact that he is taking up a valuable squad place.

I reckon Poch and the players know how valuable he is despite the multiple injuries hence why we're still keeping him around, perhaps he's over the worst of them.

Apart from when he is injured he does most his rehab work in Italy. He cannot be an influence if he is not there. I am a bit shocked we are clearing out our first choice rb and lb over an injury prone bench player.

This is the first year I have said to get rid of Lamela because I was hoping he would become the player we have had glimpses of.

I think there's generally a reason for that, there's a reason we gave him a new contract and there's a reason we're keeping him around.

I'm backing Poch on this one.
