I think he is benefiting from the tired legs of the opposition, particularly those that were keeping tabs on Lucas this evening. I think our attacking options are pretty decent regardless of who starts.

Lamela is far more effective from just behind the front than Eriksen.

Four appearences, four goals, well worth a start and drive the ball forward from midfield.

I'd be tempted to play Lamela next to a DM, and have Dele Eriksen and Son/Moura sit behind Harry.

People can say he's benefiting from tired legs but my opinion is that Eriksen has looked pretty poor all season and Lamela is taking his chance every single time and he deserves that to be rewarded. If he doesn't do the business when starting then he's one hell of an impact sub but he deserve to be in that first 11 for the next league game.

And personaly I thought he was one of our brightest attacking players against Inter, a game in which he started. Was he perfect, no not at all, but he was integral to what little positive attacking play we had going. People are so quick to jump on his back sometimes, one has to remember he hardly had a pre season and got injured again after one game. At the moment he has earned the right to start more then one PL game in a row without being dropped if his performance isn’t anything other then MOTM worthy. Yes he may end up being a super sub, but at the moment he is doing enough to warrant a shot at being a starter again.

We have to careful with Coco, I don't think he was dropped more a case of not wanting him to get injured.
If he starts against Watford I don't think he will start next weekend.
We've got enough players to rotate in the front 3 especially now Deles back.

I have always said this if Lamela can add goals to his general play he'd be up there with the very best. A fully fit Lamela would alway make my strongest 11 because he offer so much ie work rate press assists and now hopefully goals

Poch always rotates and i like having an impact sub from the bench. We have really lacked someone who can change the game coming on. I wouldn’t mind if Lamela can be our “Super Sub”.

He will get his starts and just have to take the chance when he gets them. Maybe start him for a couple of games. Poch gave him a chance to start against Inter and he was really poor. Poch yelled at him a lot, probably why he didn’t start against Brighton.

Lamela needs to win the position when he starts, otherwise Poch will just keep him as a super sub. Not much else to say.

I think when our football is so lacking without him and so much more cohesive when he's present, he really should be more than just a 'super sub' though. I have little problem with him being an impact player from the bench when our football is on point or the likes of Dele, Eriksen and Son are all firing but you can rightfully argue that he's looking more productive than all three of those currently.

He definitely wasn’t really poor.

I disagree. He gave the ball away most of all the players against Inter, worst pass completion, barely 60% and most ball losses/loss of possession. Got in the game in the second half with the rest of the team, but missed his chances to score. Poch was really unhappy with him on the sidelines in the first half. The commentators mentioned it and it’s probably why Poch didn’t start with Lamela aginst Brighton.

Lamela will no doubt get his chance to start, but he has to be better in the first half to secure a starting spot. Otherwise Poch will just use him as a sub.
