I suspect many people will ignore the 'planned procedure' bit and come up with more conspiracy theories.

Hope he's back for preseason, fit and raring to go.
Also hope this thread doesn't get filled with bullshit and conspiracy like the last one.

Hip injuries take forever to heal - remember when Dembele went through several years of not 100% fitness because of it? No doubt there will still be some that will look for things that arent there for some reason. I hope he gets back to full fitness for the start of next season.

What on earth actually happened to his hip? I cant think of him getting injured in a game.

Would love to know what was actually wrong with it.

"Planned procedure", like "planned engineering works", invites disquieting speculation about the haphazard alternatives.

I read it as it was a small tidy up procedure, maybe to remove some small debris. Let's hope he is fully recovered in time for pre-season, he'll be like a new signing after being out for most of this season!

i d be more excited about a full pre-season for Sissoko (assuming he doesnt get sold), Jansen, Anything (Nkoodoo), Rose and Lamela than any new signing. (could very well be my age)

Genuinely though I didn't really buy the club's line on his previous surgery, which sounded more like a medical fuck-up than anything else (although granted we have very few details to go on).

I don't buy into the ludicrous stories swirling around Lamela, but it does look like his injury has been handled pretty poorly whichever way you spin it.

If you record yourself reading those tweets and then play the recording backwards it would clearly state "Erik Lamela is a raging crack head and will never play for the club again"

He'd be fucking awesome in a 3421 if he recovers to be the player he was last year. Imagine him, Eriksen and Dele competing for the two behind Kane. That's a game changer dynamic right there; our Chelsea semifinal bench option that comes on and blows the arse dust off the opposition when legs are tiring

Operations on both hips would suggest higher likelihood of an underlying anatomical issue rather than a specific injury.
