Looking at a compilation of all our goals last season. He was implemental in about 3/4 of of every goal in the first part of the season until he got injured.

Will be like a new signing next season. Cliche aside.

Lamela career is fucked unfortunately. So people shouldn't be surprised if Poch wants 2 more midfielders like Barkley & Lemar

Why is his career fucked?

Only when/if he returns to full training can it be gauged how he is physically

Doubt he will ever come back properly after all these injury disruptions. Love him as a player when he's actually fit. Think he's finished here, unfortunately.

His first season was a write off.
He did really well in second season, but still had a long way to go interms of what we needed from a player in his position
He started the third season well, but within october, lost his form. Then injury. Then Son made that position his own.
Everyone thought he will recover. Even Poch was unsure what is happenning to him.
Had a surgery. Now it turns out, he will still be out for another 5 months.

Lamela is entering his 4th year at Spurs. He has not stamped his authority to stake a claim for XI. Before he got injured, he wasn't a guarenteed starter. When he comes back, he defintely won't be and in all probability 2 or 3 will be waiting before him.

Like it or not, his Spurs career is fucked unfortunately, whatever way you look at it

If he's actually out until mid-autumn then he can possibly go on loan in the winter and try to get back into the game. We won't get anything for him anyway until he starts playing again...

The worry re Lamela is that it's a really awkward injury.id almost be more confident if he'd broken his leg.Hip is very much like a back injury when it comes to injuries. If he has a weakness there it could well flare up again. But far too early to say he is finished .

Are you talking about this season?

He was starting pretty much every match from Autumn 2015 until the same period in 2016 and was playing behind Kane with Delli and Eriksen.

I was talking about 2016/17

He started 6 out of 9 games.
First 3 games, he merited it after a good preseason + Dembele was unavailable
Last 3 games, he started after Kane was injured.

Agree, he did start 28 times in 2015/16, when Son was injured & not up to scratch.
