With Liverpool at the Lane next week being the last game of the season it got me thinking.

Over the past few years, the last game of the season has given us something to celebrate. The atmosphere around the ground for the past two end of season games has been nothing short of electric with European qualification being secured.

This season we have already celebrated (some would say milked) our only success of the season and with the league campaign being such a dissapointment we have nothing to really look back on with fondness. I expect we will see countless replays of the rout of over Arsenal and Woodgate's slow facial reaction as the ball rebounds off his nose into the back of the net at Wembley.

Also, if all rumours are to be believed some Fan's Favourites could well be playing their last game for the club next week, but with all the uncertainty hanging over the future of players such as Berbatov,Robinson,Lennon,King and even the likes of Tom Huddlestone have been linked with moves away. We won't know who we are bidding farewell too or saying 'See you next season' too.

Just me or is next week going to feel slightly odd at the Lane?

Of those, it will only be Robbo's last, if he even plays.

It will be interesting to see the reactions of some of the players i.e. anyone who knows it was their last game.

Berbatov, hmm, if it was his last game Im not sure he would be emotional about it anyway.

Dawson you could possibly add to your list too.

Its against Liverpool, we should be making a statement for next year. And if Berbs has to go, I'd like to see him in our Lilywhite one more time.

I'd like them to finish the league on a postive, defeating one of the big four.

I was quite impressed with the way Villa fans got to say goodbye to Mellberg today and even Bolton and Diouf. It would be good to know in advance so we could give them a good send off. I dont like the thought of any of them going but am resigned to Robinson and probably Dimitar. I just hold on to the thought that we will be enabling our top manager to work with the people he wants.

You never know, we might get a serious bout of food poisoning and be forced to play the reserve team !!!

I think Juande will be really fired up for this win. Although I would love to finish in the top half I don't think that's on Juande's mind.

I think he will really be wanting to put a marker down for next season by beating a top four team in the league. Without letting this degenerate into a Jol (who I love) discussion, I think he will be acutely aware that some people (including at the club) had reservations about Jol's lack of success against the top four clubs.

I believe Juande will do it too. We'll also beat the Spammers to 10th too as they seem to have checked out months ago.

it'll be Teemu's last game for sure. shame as i really like him and value him as a decent squad player. i remember being about 10 yards away from him when he scored his first goal or us. great day!!

He probs wont even make the bench let alone play. As a massive Teemu fan I do hope he gets to play one last game for the club he love and gets the send off he deserves before he is forced out the door

Unless we get the right bids for our players then none of them will be leaving - its impossible for the management to know 100% in advance who will be leaving!
My guess is that at least a dozen of our current squad will leave this summer and I wish them all well - obviously the exception to that rule would be if Berbatov is sold to another premiership club!

Keane made a point yesterday. He played his best game in about 12, or 13. Maybe proving that he's as good without Berbatov. I think he might know what's going to happen in Berba's near future.

I was watching Ghaly during the lap of honour at the last game of last season and he gave no clues away, especially considering the fact that his very presence in the group doing the rounds may have been inflammatory to some people.

I don't think we'll see many departures from the first team squad anyway, at least not beyond those that have been shipped out on loan already. Ramos has as good as said this somewhere.

I just hope we end it on a positive!!

If it's Robbo's last game then it will definately be emotional. He's always had a great rapport with the fans.

I'm hoping to hang about for an hour or two after as I hear a few of the pubs are doing something?
