Lawro's Predictions - A Small Problem

Hello!

As some of you know, I've been doing a running comparison between Mark Lawrenson's Premiership predictions and the actual results.

I've run into a small problem however, and would appreciate some suggestions. Arsenal played Newcastle on Wednesday 5th. However, Lawro didn't make any prediction for this match. So I'm not sure what to do with this 'rogue' result.

Any thoughts?

So he didn't predict it before it was postponed?
If there's any way that can be checked...

I'd just say don't do anything about it until the end of the season. It's only one game he hasn't predicted, we'll still get a decent showing of how accurate he was from the 'final' (minus Arse-Newc) table.

do it mathematically. look back at his arsenal predictions against non-top 4 opponents away and average it out. if the number is greater than 2 go with 3 points, less than 2 go with 1 point.

Statistically, why don't you just leave it out? If you are looking to present the result as a percentage of results or scores he gets right, missing out one should not be significant over a season.

I think I'll go with that option BOF. Just wipe the result from the results table and don't put it into the prediction one. Although I would mention that I was tempted to go with hashminder's suggestion too.

Thanks for your input everyone. The latest Lawro thread will be up shortly!

PS. Rogue, I would never stoop so low as to call you a draw.

I'd just go with the actual result in this case. Seems fairer that way.
