Sky Italia report Spurs are interested in signing Leandro Paredes with AS Roma willing to sell this month.

According to Sky Sport Italia transfer pundit Gianluca Di Marzio, Roma would be prepared to sell Paredes for €30m. That can be reduced to €25m plus €5m in various add-ons and bonuses.

Spalletti: “Paredes is a great midfielder, the perfect playmaker. He showed no desire to leave. If the club has to sell in order to balance Financial Fair Play, then that’s another thing to be evaluated.”

Highlights of his time at Empoli last season...

He's got a nice set of skills. Would he be suitable in a deep playmaker role?

I lost track of him when he left for Italy so I don't know how he's been playing. All I know is that they turned him into a CM. He was a #10 (an AMC) for Boca

He has the playmaking skills, but I don't know if he improved his defending.
He was likened to Riquelme at the time. I know those "new x" labels are always there, but he was similar enough to Riquelme in style, or at least that's what I thought atm

Like Riquelme, he uses his arms a lot to shield the ball when he's in possession

From those clips looks really slow in releasing the ball.

I think we need a tik tak sort and Winks looks like he could be

Very similar skills to our Dembele, but with a nice long pass range and a great delivery from freekicks too.

Based on that clip on looks like a really good player.

Serie A just seems too easy to find space. So many of his turns there look good because a player is charging at him like a headless chicken (pressing) without any real intent to win the ball. Still looks like he has lovely quick feet, just think he'd take a while to adapt.

IMHO, Winks is a far better option than him. Why would we invest 25m in a deep playmaker when Winks is alredy progressing well and making great impact in the minutes he is playing ?

Non starter for me

Why Roma looking to sell - linked with Pool too.
Good player but will he add anything different to the midfield options and might he limit even more the development of some of our own

He'd be a very shrewd signing and wouldn't block anyone's development. Based on our preferred formations and without moving players out of their best positions we're actually short on CM players. We currently only have Wanyama (DM), Dembele and Winks. 3 players for 2 positions? easily room for a 4th, especially when you take into account form, injuries and development. I haven't taken into account Alli as his best position is supporting Kane and Dier is currently deployed in defence or as a 2nd DM. We've no one else who can step in and that was evident yesterday against Wycombe. Carroll's gone, Bentaleb is out on loan and highly unlikely to come back, and we sold Mason.

Great balance, insane level of control of the ball. Real heads up player and something we lack a little in our team. Would be happy with this.....

Mousa Dembele is one of my favorite players, but has no replacement when injured. We have no one with his skill set to replace him and our fall off after he got suspended last season shows his value to us [Deli's suspension didn't help]. Harry Winks is developing into a truly awsome prospect, but to compete in multiple competitions we need a better quality of squad players for rotation, the FA cup game yesterday proved that.

Dembele won't be around forever and this kid looks a very good prospect, especially since he can play at 10 as well. I could certainly see the logic in going after him and backing off from Isco if it won't work.

It's fine if ITK has backed it up but these reports to random players are a waste of time when we are not in the market place to buy until the Summer.

I think we are always in the market if there is a deal that works.

Looks like him and lamela went to the same school for tackling, absolutely just loves to dive in.

Hadn't heard of him but looks quite similar in style to Bentaleb.

I'm a big fan of Nabil as player, and we need another to compete with dembele and winks. If this guy has a good head on him I can see this interest being genuine.
