Berbatov was praying that King didn't mark him in the training match. He has had it easy since he has been out and now will have to work in training

If anything that'll make him work less, because he knows he won't be able to do anything with Ledley marking him.

I've just spoken to the surgeon that operated on Ledders and he's told me that he has a highly unusual condition that leads to higher than normal cartilage wear. It is all down to the size of his enormous cock, which swings about and crashes into his knees so often that the impact has caused extensive damage in both knees. They are considering giving Ledley a cock reduction in a bid to cure this problem long-term.

Hope that clarifies the situation.

Is it more or do those pictures in no way show him in full training? Bit of running and light ball work on his own is what I see.

it doesn't show Keane or Dawson in full training ether, infact it hardly shows Keane moving at all.

From Telegraph today

http://www.telegraph.co.uk/sport/ma...ourView&xml=/sport/2007/11/29/ufnspurs129.xml

King is suffering from a persistent knee injury and his rehabilitation is currently limited to light training with the first-team squad for two days a week.
king.jpg

Out: Ledley King (right) has been a huge loss for Spurs during their early-season struggles Ramos said: "Ledley King is very far away. It is difficult to say two weeks, three weeks, three months or four months.
"There hasn't been a setback. It's just a serious injury and it's a slow recovery."
Tottenham have looked increasingly shaky in defence, with a back line of Gareth Bale, Younes Kaboul, Michael Dawson and Pascal Chimbonda lacking in strength and experience.
Spurs' problems have been increased by the absence of Kaboul for their Uefa Cup clash against Danish side Aalborg tonight due to a groin problem.

More media nonsense. The picture is quite clearly ‘above’ :)

Except unfortunately the quote is from Ramos, and says Ledley is anywhere from two weeks to three to four months away from first-team football.

The same quote is also on Sky Sports now:
http://www.skysports.com/story/0,19528,11661_2928745,00.html

Highly depressing if it's a genuine quote from Juande.

He could be sandbagging, of course. Two weeks to four months is vague, to say the least.

Still, this begs the question as to why we apparently made no attempt whatsoever to sign an experienced CB over the summer. Did we completely miscalculate Ledders' recovery time?

Sandbagging? Now there's an interesting phrase! :)

The wide timescale could also mean that Ledley's knee (or knees) keep swelling up after he trains, and the orthopedic experts don't know whether this may calm down in time, or persist. My suspicion, I'm afraid, is that it's a Paul McGrath situation - great CB who may be reduced to playing without training. McGrath apparently got away with it for a couple of seasons...

I really hope I'm wrong. I agree with SS57 that we should have signed an experienced CB over the summer, and it's particularly galling that Pompey were prepared to pay EPL-proven LCB Distin's wages demand and we weren't.

i.e. assume that our key defender, club captain and best player with a very dodgy injury record (especially recently)would be back no problems very soon? and therefore not buy even (god forbid) one experienced defender over the summer?

only a bungling idiot would make that kind of assumption.

then again only a fool would sack a manager with a point to prove against his old employers (and our biggest rivals) just a week before an FA cup semi final

only a complete cretin would give a manager millions to spend, get caught looking for a replacement 2 weeks into the season, deny it, then do it anyway after dragging the club's name through the mud and making it even more of a laughing stock than it was already.

only a coward would essentially say "if the new manager fails then it's not my fault it's the guy I appointed to appoint him's fault". and not appear at the press comference to greet him.

only a moron would ban a lifelong fan, season ticket holder and high profile journalist who dared to speak his mind from the ground. at the very time when the club really didn't need any more bad publicity.

coming from a financial background i understand that he is all about increasing shareholder wealth - fair enough. howvever, the above actions do pretty much the opposite. as joey55 has correctly said, success is difficult when clubs will just nab our disgruntled good players because we are spending so long developing potential - which may or may not ever materialise.

it's as if he saw what happened in the hoddle era (purchasing clapped out has-beens) and thought "I know, I'll try and do the complete opposite from now on". Sounds great in theory at the back of an economics lecture but in practice, well we get what we have now. spent loads of money, extremely expensive tickets, and not a great deal to show for it. he should work for the FA.

There wasn't too much footage of him but he made a timely interception then surged forward and was also seen leaping up for a header. He looked his casual self from what I could see !
