I never said I wanted to play Chimbonda at centre back, just that he might get a chance there.
My point re Lee is that the top clubs like Man U, Arsenal and Chelsea would never play a consistent first choice left or right back there with the wrong foot because of the way it restricts their ability to attack down the flanks.
We now have a quality left back in Bale but in true typical Spurs style the failure to secure a left footed midfielder (again) means that he's pushed there out of his best position (IMHO) and Lee still gets a game.
