He put in a cracking left-footed one last night. Unfortunately, no-one was able to get to it.

The main thing he brings his his experience. We need a few more seasoned profesionals to provide a steadying influence to our younger players.

He doesn't need to be able to cross because we hardly ever have anyone in the box to get on the end of it.

As a left back he is average at best as has no left foot.

His crossing is terrible too. And teams like Bolton make mincemeat out of his poor aerial ability by playing long diagonal balls there all game.

Only plays because we have nobody else.

A solid pro though who I'd like to see play at right back a bit more - maybe he'll get a chance if Chimbo gets a couple of games at centre back in place of Kaboul.

Chimbonda at CB will never be a permanent place. Although he did play in CB in his early years he is a much more natural RB.

So you want to play a left back at right back (probably only because he's predominantly right footed), and you want to play a right back at centre back? Kaboul in midfield? Maybe Robbo on the wing?

It's funny how Chimbonda can't seem to defend when he's playing as a right back, yet he defends perfectly well at centre back.

The way Hughton was average? Or Denis Irwin? Or Phil Neville? Or Zambrotta? Flamini did a very good job at LB for the Goons. And that's just off the top of my head.

A while back some idiot pronounced that he was useless because he never makes sliding tackles.

Exactly. How many left backs in the Premiership are better than Lee?

Lee is an easy target for most good teams in the prem.

An easy target that doesn't pay off for those good teams.

Bale on the other hand, is a different story.

It's very difficult to find a good leftback. Bale is the only other player in the Premiership I'd want in there but would rather play him in LM

Which left backs are better than him in the league Arne Riise ? , Shorey ? , perhaps Ashley Cole .

Lee sets a terrific example to the youngsters and must be an inspiration to the more perceptive among them .
