Supported Leeds till I was 11 due to being bullied by older sister lol. Rest of my family were spurs and started taking me to WHL from about 8. I tried to resist supporting spurs for 2-3 years but in the end the songs got me. Still a soft spot for Leeds, fantastic club with a great history. After Spurs having a successful season,I’d like nothing more than to see Leeds back in PL. Proper football club unlike some of the shit now there like Bournemouth.
Agree but lay off Bournemouth - they went through some very tough times before they got some money - even in Eddie Howe's early days they were near extinction. Good luck to them.

I thought Bournemouth were a pretty respectable club who worked hard to get up the leagues and stayed in prem without spending masses of money.

A nice family run club run by supporters trust? (Unless they’ve since been taken over by someone else?).

They have a Russian owner and did just get an FFP fine from the Football League for their accounts in the two seasons before promotion to the PL, but he's nowhere near Abramovich level of wealthy.

Yeah, they seem to have a lot of ***** but player wise I always think of Azza blud, Robinson, Woodgate and Rose and think we’ve done alright out of their academy.

Ah I see, I only remembered when fans took over due to financial difficulties.

Yeah don't see any reason to hate Bournemouth. Very likeable club who actually play decent football.

I don’t hate Bournemouth and lets get this right they’ve spent. I’d guess their net spend over 3 years is bigger than ours, which isn’t tough. But I just can’t see them as a proper football club sorry. Nothing personally against them but I’d much rather have the likes of villa and Leeds in PL.

They're far from the fairytale story people try and make out because it makes a quaint story. They still got bought out by a dodgy Russian and had money pumped into the club to see them shoot up the leagues.

Being a 'proper' football club is subjective - aside obviously from the fact that they are clearly a registered football club so in that sense they are a proper football club.

I remember going to see them for years when they had sod all and had a right old ramshackle ground. They got a decent cash injection as a jump start but QPR are an example of where just having a load of money won't necessarily help you survive. They are a well run club with a good manager surviving amongst the so-called elite clubs. It's refreshing to me. I'm not going to get into a whole big debate though as it's an unwinnable argument.

I've got no issue with the club really, I just take issue with the way the media present them like some sort of Cinderella story and never even mention the whole rich Russian owner thing because it doesn't suit the narrative. As you say, the money doesn't guarantee anything and they're still a well run club but I find it odd that it never gets mentioned.

It is a Cinderella story - Maxim Demin was the wealthy prince in a sense (although I don't think that his wealth is comparable to Abramovich for example). I think maybe you mean it wasn't some kind of miracle as they received money from a wealthy benefactor and that gave them the jump start that they needed. What they have done is to spend the money relatively wisely (unlike say QPR did) and buy good players (but not superstars or over-the-hill premier league players looking for a final payday) and they landed on their feet with Eddie Howe who is clearly a good man-manager and coach. TBH, I only leapt in to defend them because they were called a shit club and not a proper football club, which I realise is subjective - the other guy is completely entitled to apply his own reasoning of what constitutes a 'proper football club' but I felt that it was undeserved. Leeds and Villa have no divine right to be in the premier league.

Just watching them now.

England is the perfect place for bielsas style, the English mentality is perfect. They will win the league comfortably if they play like they are doing now (3 up away to Norwich)

Benitez and now Bielsa in the championship, crazy.

I still can't help but feel a bit cautious because we've been here with leeds several times and obviously they were going great guns last season before dropping off but they are looking very good at the moment.

It's whether their fans and owner can ride the inevitable October/November slump that we've had to endure under Poch if it comes along for them.

I hope so. Like others have said, I want to see Poch v Bielsa.

My reason is somewhat more petty in that my mate who is a leeds fan has always had it over us that our last meeting in 2013 resulted in that shock FA cup exit so I want to do them in the league.
