Good to see AVB praising Lennon after today's game. A lot of fans on here have been moaning at him in recent weeks, by saying he doesn't offer enough to the team.

But AVB was right in praising Lennon's defensive work, you see people every week moaning at Bale for not tracking back, while Lennon always helps out the full back consistently for the last 3 seasons.

I also feel that just having him on the pitch, gives Bale more space, as he stretches defences.

Mad to think he has been at the club nearly 8 years and is only 25

So hes a Defensive winger now.

Lennon needs to improve, I haven't seen todays game but I thought he was good against Liverpool. He so fucking lucky he has pace because once he losese that he will be no use to anyone

Hes a great player who runs his heart out every week for Tottenham in a completely unselfish way. Need more players like him, fans who criticize a Spurs legend like him should simply fuck off.

Don't forget his great first touch, and close-controlled dribbling. He also doesn't give away possession like some of our other players. His defensive work also should not go unnoticed.

I'm not sure if he's a Spurs "legend" (I consider the Kings, Blanchflowers, etc. to be legends so it may just be difference in definition) yet but I completely agree. Him and Walker run their hearts out on that right side and seeing them slated for being "poor footballers" or "brainless" is unfair and untrue. Lennon has improved a lot and seems to do everything AVB wants him to do.

Always feel he looks more dangerous when he drifts into the middle of the pitch. Fullbacks know how to cope with him but Centrebacks are scared to go near him. Would be interesting to see him played there, but then we'd need an effective winger (both attacking and defensively) to replace him on the right side.

Lennon is my favorite player I just love watching him play. He gets me off my seat more so than Bale does - that says a lot.

Lennon is simply part of the furniture at spurs and it would be weird to ever see him play for another club. I love the guy and want his nuts

Harsh but true.

And yes, he does need to improve; he needs competition for his place, that will help him. He's had no incentive to push him since he's been here - no one at his heels.

The past 8 years have been great and we've got great value for money but his position is one we need to improve on with a better all round wide player.

hes a push and run player he never dribbles past players, thought he was quiet again today.
