Floating in the news today that Sarri has "a month/February left to turn things around", which I can only takes in reality means that the decision to replace him is made and this is a subtle way of initiating the news to the public.

They've got a lot of big matches this month...FA cup against United, League Cup final against City, Europa League knockouts and us in the league. It wouldn't surprise me if he's gone before we play them at the end of the month.

Fine is as much as £70. He makes that in seconds, he won't be fussed over it.

That's the trouble with it. I remember seeing Gordon Ramsey on some TV show years ago and they were joking about him having hundreds of parking tickets and, while it comes off as a bit ****y, he was pretty honest about it, and basically just said he has to go into his 3 restaurants in London on and off throughout the day and it's cheaper for him to just park right outside each of them and pay the fine if he gets a ticket than it is for him to buy/rent parking spaces within walking distance of each of them. Plus by the time you factor in his time or whatever then it's a no-brainer. If you can afford to just pay the ticket and not worry about it then it's no punishment at all and, as he says, sometimes actually cheaper if it's a regular thing.

I remember reading about Finland a few years ago and there when you get a parking fine or speeding ticket etc. it's proportional to your income. Obviously Im sure it's not an exact science given that all these millionaires have all sorts of hidden offshore income, but the principle still works. So it's like a fixed % of your weekly income or something so for arguments sake, if it's 10% of your weekly income and you're just an average joe who makes e.g. 700 quid in a week working in a supermarket, then your fine would be 70 quid, but if you're some millionaire celebrity making 100k/week then your fine would be 10k so that it's equally a deterrent for the wealthy as it is for the common man

I only caught the 2nd half tonight - but one of the things I took away from the match - Pulisic is not nearly ready for the more physical play of the PL.

If Abramovich decides he is done investing in England - with the lack of a Work Permit - I think Chelsea could fall back very quickly. As it is, even with reinvestment this summer - when they lose Hazard, they are in for a tough time replacing him - and they still have problems all over with Pedro and Willian also getting older. Defense needs an overhaul. Might need new MFers once Sarri leaves and Jorginho heads back to italy.

Pulisic was nothing special tonight. Young, talented but nowhere near a replacement for Hazard

I’d even take Hudson-Odoi over him. Funnily enough Chelsea have him already yet spent £60m on an arguably less talented kid ... ??

What I saw tonight was very similar to us under AVB, with "give it to Bale" replaced with "give it to Hazard".

I put that in the match thread during the game, probably more relevant in this thread though:

Chelsea's problem, this goes for basically every game I see them play, is that they don't have balance to their attack.

Sarri's Napoli team also had lots of fluidity and players roaming about the pitch, and a fuckload of passes in the build up, but then there was also a load of players who were prepared to consistently make a burst forward and attack the penalty area.

The Kante/Jorginho debate is the one that everyone focuses on, but for me the first problem is Kovacic. He is meant to be the most advanced midfielder and yet he spends most of his time just dropping off recycling play, he doesn't offer enough from that role in the 90 minutes. Hamsik in that role would make killer run after killer run up in support. Whoever plays out of Willian/Pedro on the right is another who needs to attack space more and probe in behind, comparing to someone like Callejon previously.

It's incredibly hard to break teams down (especially the better ones) when so much of the play, and players, are in front of the defence. With this happening, when the style of play is always liable to concede goals, there will only be problems.
