It all goes to show that he is a weak manager. He makes the decision not the players, right or wrong. Pretending to storm of to the dressing room then turning back shows his weakness. Hope he stays.

Yeah I see all that. Heat of the moment and all that. He probably would have come off if they raised the board. They didn't. They just started shouting at each other. im not vindicating him. But I can 100% see why he wanted to stay on it was injury time in extra time.

They did raise the board.

The most interesting thing about the whole incident was Sarri walking off down the tunnel. What exactly was he thinking ?
Imo
1. I can’t deal with this ( as in the pressure got to him) like you’d run away from a situation as a kid you couldn’t face.

2. He just thought this is bollox the last straw I’ve had enough.

Either way it shows he’s incredibly weak mentally and very vulnerable. You couldn’t for a second imagine another top manager acting that way in that situation.

Even if Abramovich decides to sell the club, he'll be selling to another multi-billionaire, possibly a royal family from the Middle East, which will mean the near-limitless financial doping backing provided by their government, along the lines of Citeh or PSG. The days when they spent more time in Division 2 than they did in Division 1 and Ken Bates bought the club for £1 are long gone, unfortunately.

I think it simply showed what everyone has known about that squad. The players run things, not the managers. Kepa not coming off in the end was ridiculous. Have an argument afterwards in the dressing room privately, don't have one out on worldwide television. What made it worse was Kepa's wink to the camera after extra time. He knew he was faking injury to waste time, and it even fooled his own manager.

I feel for Sarri and Caballero, who got stripped, warmed up and ready only to have to sit back down and watch a penalty go under the arms of Kepa. Disgraceful behaviour.

He went against the wish of his manager which is inexcusable, but if it genuinely was because Sarri thought he was injured I can kind of understand it. If it was tactical then the guy is a disgrace and shouldnt play for them again. Either way, if he isnt dropped for Weds then it shows Sarri to be massively undermined and weak. He will be lucky to survive the week, let alone the season if we beat them
Kepa will be starting on Wednesday

That’s amazing. The rule needs changing then if you ask me.

The ref can't physically drag him off the pitch though. I guess they could change it to a yellow card offence. Another yellow if they still refuse to go? Not sure what you do if he still refuses to go after a red? Put on the Benny Hill music and get the other players to chase him off the pitch?

I got the impression he just wanted to go and scream and kick a wall in private. He probably would've calmed down after a minute and come back out.

The best thing about this is if their transfer ban is quickly upheld then they won't be able to splash out and replace him!

They'll appeal and spend a fortune in the summer. Plus Poch has shown that spending vast amounts doesnt always work, especially when you have talented youth players. Of which, they have plenty

He was thinking that he wanted a fag.

Sarri no-balls.

I guess the players don’t care because they expect him to be sacked soon, but surely their next manager will have an opinion on all of this. Maybe they’ll just bring in some sap who runs training sessions and lets the players take care of everything else.

Just to point out that Caballero was warming up before Kepos second bout of cramp, I am sure the intention was to sub him purely for the pens, in which case Sarri has lost all authority.
The commentators were going on about him coming on after extra time and I am pretty sure you can't put a sub on after the game has finished, otherwise teams would put penalty takers sitting on the bench on

Maybe the transfer ban should extend to the employment of a coach as well as new players.

Unless the laws have changed only the players on the field of play at the end of the game can take penalties.

Kepa Arrizabalaga is still refusing to leave the pitch at Wembley more than a day since losing the Carabao Cup final against Manchester City on penalties. The Spanish shot-stopper waved away Maurizio Sarri’s attempts to replace him in extra-time, undermining the embattled Italian.

“The butterfingered shitebag won’t budge,” Sarri told Soccer on Sunday. “We’ve tried everything. Turning on the sprinklers, luring him with Tortillas, beating him with corner flags — but he just waves us away.”

“We wanted his girlfriend to try coaxing him off,” said Sarri. “But John Terry had already offered her a lift home, and both their phones are off for some reason.”

“Credit to David Luiz,” added the former Napoli manager. “He went onto the pitch this morning with little bags and scooped Kepa’s poops. Outstanding teamwork, but it’s always disappointing when your centre half has to deal with your goalkeeper’s bum chocolate. Nobody likes to see that. Not at this level.”

There was talk of Jim Ratcliffe, Britain's richest man buying Chelsea from RA.

He is now supposed to be moving to Monaco to save billions in taxes.
(and getting cold feet with heels eat buyout)
