All these "laugh at" threads should be locked permanently because they make us look like a small time bunch of twats.

Can't rate as I'm on my phone but I couldn't agree more.

Every season we give it the big I am and everyone else has the last laugh when we don't have the bollocks to see the job through.

Lets achieve something first before we think about laughing at other teams.

Probably a bit premature. The warning signs are there that things could go catastrophically wrong at Chelsea this season, and it is bizarre to see the Machiavelli of football trying (and so far failing) to reinvent himself as a football purist, but no club can be considered 'in crisis' after two defeats, no matter how much the media would like to think otherwise.

You got to laugh when you can, or what's the point? We're all going to die one day, so why live by your rationale!

Well, Arsenal were declared to be in crisis after a solitary game this season - our media gets ever more knee-jerk!

Wasn't really sure where to put I but figured why not here given the context.

Event and scenario: My 4 year old daughter's football league has a British ex-pat running things with a focus on techniques and fundamentals. The kids spend the first 40 minutes of the 60 minute session doing technique and skill drills.

Today, the head coach who runs the program tells the kids they are playing a game called "Stamford Bridge" and explains Stamford Bridge is a football stadium in London. He then declares the greatest team in the world plays there.

My daughter picks her head up and says "but Daddy told me Spurs play at the Lane." He laughs and proceeds with telling her that Chelsea play at Stamford Bridge and he thinks they are the greatest team in the world.

My daughter puts two and two together and begins peppering him with questions about Chelsea. All the questions were built on a conversation she heard my father and I has Saturday. she asks "Aren't they run by a villain?" (as she associates Abromovich with Superhero villains) and "Isn't their leader a racist?" (I don't even know if he understands the term) The coach just shrugs his shoulders and moves on with the game.

The only disappointment I had was that she didn't know enough to challenge the coach when he stated Chelsea had a player named "Super Frank Lampard."

All in all, my little Rhi put in a solid effort tonight with both her play and banter and caused the coach to inform me afterwards he was proud of her interest in football.

This is really bad for 4 year olds.

The drills themselves are harmless and have a fun scenario to them. For instance, they played red light/green light last night where they dribbled on green, did toe taps on yellow and stopped the ball on red.

They don't try to teach them the logic in passing, tackling or trapping yet as it is pure chaos. It is all ball control when dribbling and getting used to the ball at their feet. I'm interested in where you see the program is going wrong.

40 minutes of drills for a 60 minute session is not recommended for 4 year olds - this is going by the FA coaching guide book.

Interesting. Thanks for the information Omar. I will say that she has taken to it and enjoys the whole session more than she did when it started six weeks ago. She has gone from only enjoying the drills to blood thirsty for goals during games but those are stories or another thread.

Although I will add that it is dependent on how many players the coach has to work with. The whole idealism for that age group is about having fun and enjoying the game. It's good to have a fun orientated drills, but you don't teach children course work at school when they are 4 years old and thus 40 minutes of drills is too much. A 40 minute match wouldn't be recommended as well, you need to break the session up, preferably into similar time segments.

Agreed, makes us look a bit deluded. Let's face it, over the past 10 years it's probably fair to say that we have been more laughable to the casual observer than Chelscum. A 'Let's rant about how much we hate Chelscum' thread would be more appropriate.

There was a Laugh a Liverpool thread on here somewhere. I've just seen them on Match of the Day and frankly I would fancy their chances in the Champion's League more than ours.
