I thought it was meant to be going tits up at Chelsea?

Doesn’t appear to be today does it?
Apparently we were going to be making a statement in this window and it appears we are

We're going to be the first club who choose to sign no one in a summer transfer window

@Sporf: ❌ The only @PremierLeague team yet to sign a player this summer.

❌ The only @championsLeAgUe team yet to sign a player this summer.

❌ The only team in the Top 5 European leagues yet to sign a player this summer.

Absolute classless club. Fans laying into TC after all the success he had had with them, why wouldn’t he want to move to Madrid, especially as his kids live there. Rotten club.

It will only make it all the more glorious when we beat them all again this season!

A midfield of Kovacic, Jorginho and Kante suddenly looks a bit good.
They could be excellent, but there's not a lot of goals in that midfield or the team in general. One of their front three is going to have to go up a level.

Great point. And I said in another thread that I don't think their defence is strong enough to challenge, too many of them aren't used to or comfortable with the back four Sarri will play, and Morata needs to step up big time or they're relying almost solely on Hazard for goals.

I still predict Chelsea and Arsenal 5th and 6th. Confident we're better than both.

They’re going to whoop our asses this season when they come up against Dier and Sissoko.

Our midfield handled Modric, Kroos and Isco/Matuidi Pjanic and Khaedira to name a couple of examples.

Honestly I get the negativity at the moment but it's bordering on absolute nonsense purely for the sake how you're feeling.

I have severe question marks over our midfield at the moment. Injuries and form mean we don't know what the hell it's going to look like. Granted Poch usually finds solutions, but I still think that Chelsea midfield has two of the best midfielders in the world at the moment in Kante and Jorginho. And Kovacic has the potential to get there too.

Surely you can make the same point about them or anyone else though.

I heard about the Ratcliffe desire to buy a few months ago, things have accelerated since then.
Maybe RA wants to get his money back and take it to Israel or wherever.

I'm sure their are some Arab multi billionaires watching and waiting to swoop.

Perhaps somebody better tell them they don't get a pitch included in any £2 billion plus purchase.

They’ll fall on their feet with the new owner unfortunately. Whoever has enough money to piss up the wall on Chelsea will have enough to bankroll them.

they won the lottery with RA in 2003 when they were days from going in administration. Sadly their profile after 15 years of financial doping is sufficient for another billionaire to be interested in buying and bankrolling this most vile of "football clubs"

as far as RA is concerned, job done. He now has sufficiently profile to be protected from any potential polonium poisoning.

Would much prefer him not to sell but to lose interest and for chelsea to fall away and stagnate.

If you've got a couple of billion to spend on a football club, you would have thought Spurs would be the club to buy

We've got a slightly better squad, but more importantly we've got a brand new stadium with NFL links and an amazing training ground

Plus you'd also own the pitch

Seriously though, not sure why you'd buy Chelsea and then have to spend another billion or so on infrastructure

Not necessarily. Our owner is minted but doesn't throw money around.
Man U despite still spending big have cut back since Glazers took over in relation to years gone by. They were out spending every fker by some way under Fergie.
A lot of clubs have had money owners come in but found themselves not spending as much and plenty of clubs have had money come in promise the world and found themselves in Championship a few years later.
Heres hoping thats what happens. Unlikely granted but falling down the table is not out of the question.
Similarly if we lose Eriksen, Toby, Rose, Alli etc next summer we're gonna have a fkin impossible task staying with top 4.
