That's the trouble with it. I remember seeing Gordon Ramsey on some TV show years ago and they were joking about him having hundreds of parking tickets and, while it comes off as a bit ****y, he was pretty honest about it, and basically just said he has to go into his 3 restaurants in London on and off throughout the day and it's cheaper for him to just park right outside each of them and pay the fine if he gets a ticket than it is for him to buy/rent parking spaces within walking distance of each of them. Plus by the time you factor in his time or whatever then it's a no-brainer. If you can afford to just pay the ticket and not worry about it then it's no punishment at all and, as he says, sometimes actually cheaper if it's a regular thing.

I remember reading about Finland a few years ago and there when you get a parking fine or speeding ticket etc. it's proportional to your income. Obviously Im sure it's not an exact science given that all these millionaires have all sorts of hidden offshore income, but the principle still works. So it's like a fixed % of your weekly income or something so for arguments sake, if it's 10% of your weekly income and you're just an average joe who makes e.g. 700 quid in a week working in a supermarket, then your fine would be 70 quid, but if you're some millionaire celebrity making 100k/week then your fine would be 10k so that it's equally a deterrent for the wealthy as it is for the common man

They'd not do that here, parking/traffic fines have been a growth industry for government departments for a while now...

There must surely come a time when the powers that be at Chelsea finally stop and think how is it that these top players can be so shit whenever they don't like the manager and surely they will one day think, maybe it's their fault!
There is a cancerous culture at Chelsea and it seems to infect every player that goes there, the difference now is that those players aren't really that great.
It'll be interesting to see the difference between them and Arsenal over the next couple of years as the Arsenal are obviously going to back their manager and will ship out any players he says are a problem.
