The sheer gall of Leicester asking one of their staff to turn up to work to honour a contract they signed on the back of a massive remuneration package.

Leicester sure are shits.

P.s. I hate Leicester too

Fined £200k for missing training apparently.
I wanna say Mahrez has a shit attitude. But on second thought, he has been angling for a move for so many times but are always hard done by the club.

Really not sure if he can keep his head down again after so many times and work hard for the club.

I also want to say that Mahrez has a shit attitude but after angling for a move all summer he didn't do like van Dijk or Coutinho and basically strike, he knuckled down and played in the August matches and was far from the worst offender before Shakespeare was sacked. At least that's something.

He deserves to play for a bigger club but you can't expect to move in the last few hours of the window when your club don't have a replacement lined up, the time to move will be in the summer, boy just needs to get his head down and wait it out.

Leicester should just have a sign up at their training ground:

It has been [2] days since Riyad Mahrez last handed in a transfer request.

Reset it every transfer window. Little ungrateful ****. They plucked him from obscurity.

I hope it's not too harsh on him... seeing as he's on 100k a week.

As Mahrez is a French born Algerian maybe this is another example of the 'African' thing I keep hearing about ?

Completely understand where Mahrez is coming from. Leicester have let everyone go who wanted to leave the club, except him. Even Vardy was allowed to go to Arsenal for £20M but he chose to stay. He's got his head down, played v well this season and they received an offer worth over £60M... but he's made to stay when he could go and play for the club that's going to win every trophy going for the next few years. He's been a brilliant player for leicester, won them the league, and would make them a gigantic profit but still they won't let him leave. I would be very pissed off if I was him. However, the first thing he should do is fire his agent for not insisting on a release clause in his contract.

Don't understand the sympathy to be honest. He chose to sign a new contract on massive money after they won the title. If he wasn't happy to commit to the extra time then he shouldn't have signed the contract, then he could've left at the end of his old one if need be.

He can't expect Leicester to accept a bid they believe is below his value without having time to find a replacement. Also none of that is an excuse for going awol from training before your team play a match. Four days running he hasn't turned up.

Not on the last day of the window with 10 hours to go you don't. He had plenty of time to move in the summer and January as well. You can't sign a contract for x amount of years doubling your wage and then demand to be sold at the last minute of the window, seeing as Leicester need time to get a replacement in, they weren't afforded that time which is why they put a high value on him.
