Liverpool have posted a £20m loss up to May 2016 due to player buys (Benteke 32m) and paying off Brendon Rodgers although the did pull in £49m for the sale of Sterling.

The loss compared to a £60m profit the year before due to the sale of Suarez. Revenue rose £3m to £301m, commercial revenue fell £700k but match day revenue increased.

This has been reported as solid progress

So they sold Sterling for £50m, finished in 2 cup finals, revenue increased and they still managed to lose £20m.
