I don't think any of them would choose to pay that much, but it's more likely to be the sort of price tag Liverpool would put on him, based on what they got for Coutinho, and the length of Salah's contract.

If ffp 2.0 comes in this summer they'd only be able to pay £200m if they sell £100m.

Because right now we aren't better. We're on par.

Arguable. Head to head we’ve comfortably got the better of them this season and they’ve actually played at a home ground this campaign too, where as we have had to make do with Wembley. It’s cost us at least 4/5 points imo.

There’s not much between the two sides though. Recent history we have had the better side so I think that gives us a slight edge.

What I can’t get my head around is everyone saying ‘Salah won’t go’

Why? Liverpool don’t win trophies, they aren’t Barca, Bayern or Real and they don’t pay the most money. If Real or Barca come sniffing for Salah, his head will turn. Liverpool are his 6th club in 8 years I believe. Oh wait, suddenly he’s born and bred Liverpool? Yeah right. People forget he turned them ( along with us ) down to join Chelsea back in the day.
Suarez was dyed in the wool Liverpool yet wanted to join Arsenal and couldn’t get away quick enough when Barca came calling. It’ll be the same with Salah if and when it happens and I’ll piss myself laughing when it does!

There’s a great chance he’ll struggle to get anywhere near this seasons numbers next term too.

No ones saying he won't go, they're saying he wont go this summer, head turned or not.
They don't have to sell, he's only a year into his contract.

Salah will go at the end of next season IMO. He's not the same as Kane. He has no sense of home of loyalty. He won't go this summer.

As for, "not much between the sides", that's on par no? At the end of the day they are on roughly the same points (subject to us winning our games in hand) have a younger talented manager and benefit from great attacking options. I think that's why their fans hate us so much at the moment.

Can be considered on par, but for reasons I pointed out, I see us as slightly ahead of them. Wembley. How would they be getting on had they had to play all their home games away from Anfield? Suspect they’d be at least 6 points worse off.

I tend to agree that the Salah off next summer might be how it pans out. They are still in a strong position given his contract. Hopefully Real push hard for him and he pushes back harder! Next best thing to him leaving this summer will be him sulking for the entirety of next season or at least until January.

Possibly correct. Depends how bad the big guns want him and how bad he wants out.

Imagine if he scores 3/4 in the World Cup, he’s big news, Real come in, the whole of Egypt want him to move...it’s not a dead cert he stays.

Nothings a dead cert mate, but I think Coutinho last summer showed they wont be pressured to sell in the summer if they don't want to.

Think it's gonna be up to Mohammed if he wants to leave or not. Liverpool will do everything they can to hang on to him. Wouldn't be surprise if they give him a new contract and a decent pay increment.

I think if Zidane doesn't win the champions league then Madrid might come in for him. Hard to see anyone else paying up to sign him. Would be glad to see him out of England. At times he is single handedly winning games for them.
