Why are you nervous? What does it matter to us what Liverpool win?
Because all you will read in the papers is how Liverpool can win the PL next season all summer. You won't even know there is a World-Cup going on in the background. To be honest City are fading, and I think we can beat them this weekend if we press them. Pool will lose to Bayern or Madrid, and even Roma look a bit classy at the moment. They are not even close to being fav to winning this comp yet. They haven't played a European giant all competition.

To be honest I don’t think VVD has been that great for them. In another game that 2nd goal is rightfully alllowed, they go onto win and everyone looks back on another VVD mistake that had cost them.

Hats off to them, though, 2 great ties against city and they deserve it so no bitterness but take away those City games and who have they played that’s any good? Porto? Seville? ......

I’d also fancy us to finish above them again for the umpteenth time and while they have had a great CL run we’re 1 game away from a final ourselves (which we have a better chance of winning)

They’re doing well without Coutinho but we’ll see how that goes next season but yeah, Salah’s unbelievable form has more than compensated for that loss at the moment.
Like our FA Cup run, TBH

Honestly? For me, it's because I am a really begrudging ****. And maybe I need to work on that.

It is driving me mad that Liverpool play with such panache. And I am fuming that they got a Messi-clone for buttons.

Oh, and the number of ex-Liverpool players working in the media gives me a terrible pain in the balls.

I’ve got them as 3rd favs behind Madrid (favs) and Bayern (2nd favs). You’d fancy them to beat Roma over 2 legs.

TBH,I can see them knocking Bayern out too. Hopefully they get Madrid in the semis as that’s the team they’ll struggle the most over 2 legs, imo.

Yes. Because the World Cup happens once every 4 years.

Liverpool can win the league next season is something we hear every year.

Sounds like exactly the kind of thing being said about us. Have they improved though if they finish 4th and go out of the CL in the next round. They finished 4th last year.

They've definitely improved during the season, and getting to at least the semi finals of the champions league has to be seen as an impressive achievement. They aren't a one man team, but I think they rely on Salah more than we rely on Kane now. I guess they'll address that in the transfer window though.

Getting to the semis of the CL gives the Mickey fans a cover story to say they tossed off the Carabao Cup match to Leicester and the FA cup match to West Brom for greater glory.

But they still haven't played a big side all competition apart from City, and we already can see City are fading.

Short term, yes City's season seems to be fading out and their most used (and valuable) players are clearly fatigued. I'd be amazed if any of City's stars dominate at the World Cup.

But next season you can surely bet that they'll be up and at it again.

They've been going at full pelt since July. I remember some people commenting that it was a bit weird to see that after they tonked us in pre-season.

Without explaining the maths etc, ff Liverpool win the Champions League, that will almost certainly mean we stay in Pot 3 for next season's draw for the Group Stage. Its minor, but it is wrong to suggest that Liverpool winning the Champions League doesn't affect us.

And those of us who are surrounded by southern Liverpool fans know all too well how insufferable they'll be if they win it.

Liverpool v City was a 'Win Win, Lose Lose' situation for me. Wanted both of them to fail for different reasons. At least I'll have a clear idea who I want to win in the next round.
