Some of my Liverpool mates claiming that they've had a great season reaching the final of the CL. If they loose and now ended at 4th with less points than last season, that ain't a great season imo. "But yeah, we got Salah bagging the golden boot" Yeah, we had Kane back to back golden boot winner and finished 2nd and 3rd"(y)

You're nuts, I could understand 16th and winning the CL but just for an appearance? I'd take 3rd place every day of the week

A chance to win it, that's what Liverpool have at the moment. I'd take 16th place if it meant that we

Obviously, if you lose then you would probably take 3rd.
True, but hopefully they’ll get beaten by the first top level European team they’ve actually faced this year.

Top level European side?

What on earth are City?

I'm not joining in the baiting of Liverpool fans on social media because
a) Finishing above them by one place when both teams have qualified for next season's Champs Lge is pretty trivial; and
b) I expect them to win the Champions League this season.

However, I've seen a few posts giving Liverpool a lot of praise for an unbeaten home record (league only as the lost to West Brom there in the FA Cup) and I assumed they therefore had the second best home record in the league, behind only Man City. I was somewhat surprised to both Arsenal and Man Utd have better home records and we won the same amount of points at home as they did despite our Wembley 'hoodoo'. In that context, why oh why is their record at Anfield even worth mentioning?

A team that has got past the first knockout round only twice (including this season) in the 8 years since they were financially doped into the CL, who are well known for - so far - not translating domestic dominance into European performances.

As opposed to the team that knocked us out, which had reached 2 finals in the last three years..

I'm not saying they've played bad teams, although they were lucky enough to get a few average ones along the way, but they didn't get any seasoned top-end CL teams. We got exactly that and saw how it turned out despite playing very well for most of the tie, those type of teams might not be able to play like City (or even us at our best) but they have nous and experience. Watching how naive some of Pool's opponents were was the opposite of this.

But, in fairness, they've beaten what's been put in front of them, just hope it ends with a thud for them now against the ultimate win at all costs team.

The team of 2014 under Brendan Rogers that finished 2nd managed to score 101 goals.

Klopps free scoring wizards havent quite reached that amount of goals yet.

The year when they bottled a 5 point lead with 3 games to go and let Man City swing 11 points in 5 games on them. Ouch.

I'm going to go out on a limb here and say that they aren't going to match that figure this season.

He’s adamant the scousers will get Toby kn a free this summer by tapping him up

Because it worked so well with VVD? I mean they had to give a sniveling apology and pay a world record fee for a defender the following transfer window but other than that the strategy worked perfectly.

And to be fair Daniel Levy is well known for giving away multimillion pound assets for nothing.
