Went to the same school as Tom; was an absolute nightmare for teachers due to his ruthless combination of intelligence and humour, assisted by the fact his mother was a respected teacher to keep him from greater punishment.

One my favourite stories was how he attended a forum hosted by Channel 4 to pitch/brainstorm new television shows.
His suggestion was for Dermot O'Leary to host a skincare miniseries: Dermot O'Logical.

Not sure if it's the same in UK but over here in Ireland there's a Liverpool shop in the city centre and they've created an ad for it. It's out about a year now but it is the cringiest ad I've ever heard.

They have a stadium, we have a home. They have stands, we have the Kop. They have fans, we have a family. This means more.

Generic ramble about the store.

Finishes with a big THIS MEANS MORE.

I honestly almost crashed the car the first time I heard it.

They deserve all the abuse they get.

John Barnes was on the Alan Brazil breakfast show yesterday morning & he said that ,even if Liverpool finish 2nd & get knocked out of the CL by Barca it will still have been an amazing season (I get that, apart from the fact they bottled a 10 point lead) but the bit that made me crack up was, he said this isn't a one off & he expects them to win the PL next year (it's always next year with these ****'s)

In his defence/to play devil's advocate a bit, if they can keep their squad together, which there's no suggestion they won't do as far as I know, then there's no reason they can't challenge for the title again. It's different to under Rogers, where they relied heavily on Suarez who was blatantly gonna be off to Spain at the first opportunity, and Gerrard who was on his last legs etc. This team is still relatively young, should still all be there next season, and doesn't rely exclusively on one player. I think if VVD went out with a broken leg or something then that would be catastrophic, but assuming something out of the ordinary like that doesn't happen, I see no reason they can't be there or there abouts next year. Especially as they seem to be happy enough to spend big money on the right players.

The psychological damage of still not winning it this year might be hard to get over though. I mean they've already thrown away a 10pt lead this season.
Christ if we'd have done that you'd never hear the bloody end of it.

I reluctantly agree with that. I do however think (hope) VAR next season will be a bit of a leveler but then the same applies to all teams in the league so maybe not.

Haven't they had a fair blessed season with regards to injuries, timing of, duration etc... and dives... blessed are the divers who follow in the flops of St Salah

They won't drop but I think they've had a bit of a freak season with no key injuries and the kind of luck they've had with ref decisions and other teams gifting them points so I don't know if there's much room for improvement.

Short of them buying a season freak like Suarez I don't see them hitting 90 points next season.
