When Chiellini did it against us it was a "masterclass in defending".
In Italy in the 80s in was quite common for defenders to grow one long fingernail, sharpen it and just use it as a weapon, more to provoke a reaction and get an opponent sent off than anything else.
Ramos and Chiellini are like choirboys in comparison.

Let me get this straight. You actually think that Ramos meant to cause an injury to the opposite shoulder? Seriously?

It was Salah's opposite shoulder, yes I agree.

But given the video footage and reaction, you reckon Salah faked it in a champions league final?

Thats really quite horrible. Not unique to the Scousers though.
It's just attention seeking, to some tiny minds they think how abusive they are reflects how much they care about the club.

You're right, they infect every club...it's a society problem, it's not even a football problem.

I don't think Sergio Ramos had a specific injury he wanted to cause but there are other ways to foul or injure an opponent other than kicking them in the shins and Ramos is a master at it. Pochettino has talked about exactly this kind of stuff in his book. Using every (dirty) trick in the book to gain an advantage and how young players these days don't know how to do it. It's integral to the game in Argentina and, to some extent, in Spain too.
They both had their respective arms locked, but Ramos had the momentum that pulled down Salah. The injury was to the other shoulder.

Faked what? He's either dislocated a shoulder joint, torn the muscles or got a nerve injury. He fell pretty hard on the point of his shoulder, so the first two would be more likely.

Liverpool were extremely lucky to get to the final and they should recognise that before complaining about their luck tonight. Madrid had to deal with us and Dortmund in the groups, then PSG, Juventus and Bayern Munich. Hard to argue they don't deserve it after that run and then winning pretty comfortably tonight.

Liverpool had Sevilla and the weakest of the first seeded teams, Spartak Moscow, in the group. Then Porto, City and Roma. That's more like a run to the Europa League final than to the CL. Luck ran out tonight. Not that they were unlucky - they just didn't have it all go their way.

A fair amount of angst on RAWK as one would expect, but kudos to this poster for looking at the bigger picture

"On another note, I suppose the Pope is safe then."
