Out of interest, being that’s it’s 2 weeks after the event, is it possible something else happened since the match? How would they know it’s the match that caused it? Not saying it isn’t, but if he’d walked into a wall a few days ago, how would they know it wasn’t that that caused it?

I bet they’re relieved that they stood by him all along, never doubted him, never gave him a moment’s criticism, and didn’t abuse him for his incompetence at any point.

You’ll never walk alone my arse.

Let's hope their medical team get the book thrown at the over it.

To be fair, the Liverpool medical team have provided an in-depth rationale for why they decided that Karius wasn't suffering from concussion at the time and why they deemed him fit to continue.

I only ask as I’ve had it twice before but don’t remember any adverse effects days later.
Having looked it up though
the risk of post-concussion syndrome doesn't appear to be associated with the severity of the initial injury. In most people, symptoms occur within the first seven to 10 days and go away within three months. Sometimes, they can persist for a year or more.
Does raise the question though whether they are trying to take the heat off him whilst putting their medical staff in the firing line, given the flack we took from all quarters with HL the next week could be quite interesting.
Oh well, that’s me educated for the year!
Yep, and that's why the guidance is that concussed players MUST be substituted immediately regardless of how well they appear to have recovered. If Liverpool ignored that at the time to try and gain an advantage it sounds like instant karma.

Even if this is a bit of a ploy to buy Karius some credibility back, I don't begrudge him it, what happened to him was awful for any player, and it would actually be smart/admirable by the club to do it. If it's true, and he did have concussion, he deserves even more sympathy.

Admirable? If it's true then their club doctors are incompetent or they allowed a player they knew to have concussion to play through it... and then publicly threw him under the bus. I feel sorry for the guy either way but you've got a strange definition of admirable...

I said if this was a bit of a ploy it's smart/admirable. Because if it's a ploy, they are doing it to give Karius some credibility back, from what has been a career damaging event. Admirable to do for him, and smart to do for them, they go some way to restoring their player's shattered confidence, they also buy themselves some time and restore some of his value.

If it's true, then it's just the correct thing to do. As far as incompetence goes, maybe, but they wouldn't be the first to make that mistake, by a long shot, I'm pretty sure we did something similar with Lloris didn't we?

Yeah, we got weeks of abuse despite our doctors clearing him to continue playing and then being given the all clear after further scans: https://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/football/24797343

In hindsight, not the best thing to do but hey it's five years ago now. If this Karius report is correct then Liverpool's doctors are going to have an uncomfortable time of it - well at least they should do.

Funny old game etc...

The above is apparently true but can’t find it myself because I’m too lazy. Just more Liverpool feeling sorry for themselves because they can’t have possibly deserved to lose, can they?

Why would they do the tests in the US, when Karius is a German that plays in England and the incident was in Ukraine?

Also, it was Van Dijk’s fault anyway for pushing Ramos.

Did the medical team factor in that he was sucking Klopps cock before the game and the force with which he was thrusting back and forth combined with the acceleration and intensity of the spunk could have been a contributory factor too!

Is it possible to diagnose that someone suffered concussion so long after the initial injury was sustained?

It’s the same doc that declared Donald Trump as having the physique is a 30year old man.

Absolutely ridiculous that he claims concussion happened during the game. It’s like a scene from CSI Kiev, where he picks off a mosquito larvae and dates it back to 4 minutes after second half kick off. And it smells of paella which means Ramos probably put it there.
