Might not be a popular opinion on here but I’ve quite liked last couple of articles I’ve randomly read from Neil Ashton, who’s the chief footballer reporter for everyone’s favourite paper (sic) The Sun.

His article today is quite scathing towards Guardiola.

Also the last article I saw was quite praising of spurs and had added bonus of pointing out how the spammers cringing make all new signings make that shit crossed arms pose (I cringe so much when I see this myself!).

No doubt normal service will resume on the Sunday Supplement tv show.

someone said lets keep it to football matters well I tell all of you That want to ignore countries that treat people that work in there countries like sub humans because this is football. Then is a sad indightment of a football follower that feels that nothing should get in the way of there narrow minded view of the world

Unfortunately City as a football matter are so linked to their owners it’s not right to separate them. The majority of the dumb arse sports press do this, like they did for Chelsea because they are toadies in thrall of money, but beyond all the monetary support from states with poor human rights records, in actual football matters their huge network of clubs is also troubling as is their artificial inflation of markets and rigged sponsorship deals. All of which directly impact the structure of professional football as a sporting matter.

His article on us was so ridiculously OTT praising though, like he was setting us up for ridicule. Compared us to Busby Babes, Liverpool's great sides and all sorts of shit. It went so far that it felt like condesending ridicule disguised as praise.

In short, he's still a knob.

He’s always had it in for Guardiola. Not quite on the AVB scale but if you look back to last season he had the knives out for him early. I think it was after Guardiola had the audacity to stand up to the prick in a press conference.

But it was Van Gaal who called him out as tubby, wasn't it?

Agree with every word... apart from the four spelt wrongly, of course!

Neil Ashton is a grade A **** and nothing will convince me otherwise, even if he's right about Guardiola.

A few weeks ago I posted the article at the bottom of my post on Twitter.
Within an hour some City fan, who seemed to think he was a reporter (he clearly wasn't), came after me. Saying that what I posted was lies, etc.

We went back and forth for a few posts, in which I criticised the club and their loan policy of the younger players. The moron then sent me the following message "I will be sure to pass your posts on to the club" with the authority as if he was the Sheik's personal spokesperson............then he blocked me!!!

I thought about his reaction after Monday's result and I laughed...........or maybe he'll send the hitman around??!

Great article.

Part of the reason I despise City more than Arsenal.

Sadly, me too. They're a great team, but the article simply highlights how much the owners don't really care about football. It's a PR exercise for some very dubious people.

All quite ironic when "let's keep it to football matters" sounds right, yet that's what the PR exercise wants us to think and say. Kinda shows how dubious owners can sneak around the so-called 'fit and proper' ownership rules too.

I don't know how much stick City are going to get over the Bennell case, The Telegraph were saying they swept a lot of it under the carpet

In fairness, it was likely a completely different regime that covered it up. All the same, what that sicko did was unforgivable, and anyone covering it up (former owners, directors, coaches etc.) should also be brought to account.

I agree. It all stinks like the Saville case
