My stance on City has changed after last night. I still despise their owners, their ethos and their plastic fans but I'm 110% behind them winning the League, not least because I can't bear the thought of Liverpool winning it.

Let's face it, they battered us last night and we had a Ref who made some incredible decisions under the circumstances. That doesn't happen very often. If they can beat the dippers to the title I'll be quite happy for them, but normal service will be resumed a millisecond after the final whistle.

I only want City to win the league when it's a case of them being in the race against Chelsea, Scum or Dippers.

So, most of the time, really.

When all's said and done they've still got no fans, no heritage, no soul.

The proper City fans have been shoved out by the plastic ones who can afford the tickets. It's a common theme in modern football.

I mentioned in the match thread that they were getting crowds well over thirty thousand when they were in the Championship so I don't really see how we can say they've got no fan's.

I live in Manchester, I've been to United victory parades (crowd was three miles long) and City victory parades (crowd didn't fill the square outside the town hall).

Contrary to popular belief, Manchester is very much red.

By "the plastic ones" I assume you mean the thousands of empty seats at the Etihad?

Every few weeks I see billboard around Manchester flogging City tickets starting from £10.

Their average PL crowd last season was 46,229 against a capacity of 55,097. That's 10,000 seats a week they're struggling to fill, even after flogging them on the cheap.

Nothing to do with money, they're just not very well supported.

Fair enough. From what I've heard elsewhere a lot of their older fans aren't happy with the way the club has been transformed since the money came in. Do you get the same impression from people up there?

To a degree; there are some who love it, of course, but they all know they didn't earn it in any real sense of the word, and it shows.

I can see the entrance to the Manchester City store in the city centre from where I'm sat right now and I've seen one person go in in the past hour. By contrast you can almost guarantee the United megastore at Old Trafford has been busy all day. It always is. That's the difference.

City are fixated on beating United, meanwhile United only care about Liverpool.

I imagine it would be similar if Everton got bought out by billionaires; yeah they'd win everything but most of Liverpool wouldn't care.

Without VAR we would be out, so.

Can you be sure of that? Because the ref was ready to give llorente's goal before he was advised to take another look, and linesmen have been told to leave tight offside calls for VAR to check, it is very possible that the linesmen would have flagged for offside

Well, I doubt the linesman would have the balls to call that offside at that point in the match.

We'll never know for sure, but I disagree and I think the standard of the officials in the CL has been much better than the PL

Even though they are the richest Club on the Planet they are charging ridiculous ticket prices up there, stopping the working man from being able to go. They'd be full houses every week if they reduced the ticket prices to reflect the working mans wage there & it's not like they need the revenue to survive is it.

the owners might not need it, but to even look like they aren't cheating FFP, they need to show something coming through attendances to warrant the wages they pay

More interesting reading (hopefully true). According to BBC Gossip this morning (via El Chiringuito) states..

German midfielder Leroy Sane, 23, and Brazilian forward Gabriel Jesus, 22, are just two out of eight players that have asked to leave Manchester City in the summer.

Obviously probably total nonsense but it does create a nice warm feeling inside to think there may be internal problems there & players are looking to leave.

Is there a player in their entire squad that wouldn't improve ours?

There might be some truth with Sane. Pep has not started him in recent important matches. I think a lot of people were surprised that he didn’t start in both CL matches against us and only used in the last few minutes of both matches when it was quite clear that City needed a player of his quality against us.

I also think it could be a disciplinary issue with Sane as he also wasn’t selected for the German NT squad in the last WC.
