Ironic to say the least, especially with the way RM have had what amounts to State sponsorship for donkeys years. The Spanish seem pissed off that others are now being supported by far more powerful Sugar Daddies than they ever were.

Yep, the message is right, but the Spanish FA are in no position to lecture anyone on what constitutes a level playing field in sport.

It's stuff like this that almost makes me sympathise with the paranoia of City supporters. A lot of the people speaking out against the success they've bought are shitting themselves because it's coming at the expense of the established elite. Arguments about sustainability and only spending what you earn are all very well for Utd, Barca and Real who can outspend most other clubs 10-1. They're only interested in financial fair play if it shores up their position of dominance at the top of the game.

Tbf he was speaking to the ft so aimed it at english fans. La liga have also done work in recent years to try and make their league more competitive and move towards the tv distribution of the pl.

What he says is true. Super league will kill off football. H's been going round europe telling everyone that would listen. Would like it if the heads of other leagues did the same.

Kompany is a truly great player and a proper professional, I would have loved to see him in a Spurs shirt. That said, it's hard to watch him get the type of send off that Ledley King should have received in an ideal world without injuries.

He's now going home to Anderlecht to become a player-manager. Respect.

If this is true, which I’m doubtful of, I wonder who City would go for.
I am also suspicious but setting a date is a bold move! Guardiola has moved on after 3-4 years so far, and this would fit in, but it would still be a surprise. No idea who they could get! Someone to continue the style and 'project' *shudder*, but no names come to mind...

It's being reported by the Italian Journalism Agency which apparently is the Italian equivalent to Reuters. There is way too much smoke here. I think it may be true and might have something to do with the CL ban.

Pep isn't leaving now but I guess the silver lining when he does eventually leave is that the only way for them is down after that.

I can’t see him leaving but you never know. Allegri suddenly leaving with a year left on his contract was a bit strange. The Ronaldo transfer suddenly came out of nowhere this time last year, which was a surprise.

I firmly thought Guardiola would stay before taking a national team job before the next World Cup. But he doesn’t stick around in jobs for long.

Let’s wait and see.

I don't think he'll go until he's won the CL with City, him not winning it at Munich is a bit of a blot on his CV. He'll want to at least match Jose's record.
