That was truly bad to be fair but this lot are far worse.

Roman, in a strange way, is a little likeable. Sure he’s dodgy as fuck but anyone who can come from absolutely nothing to such wealth has to be admired in a weird way. This lot have had everything presented on a plate and then some

Roman's not as bad as the City lot but I don't see what is admirable about being part of a group of crooks who made their money stealing billions of public money while millions of Russian people live in abject poverty as a result. If you think that's admirable then you and I are obviously very different people.

The fact that City's ownership owns however many other clubs around the world is terrifying. How that's not considered dodgy I don't know

I followed the link to Bluemoon.

One of their fans, without even a hint of self-awareness, said this:

"Also our network of clubs around the world. Source the best local talent. Run their contract down and buy them cheaply or sign them when their contract is up. Need their agents on board for this though."

WTveryF!!!

They like to play the you're just jealous card whenever anyone points out the blatantly obvious bloody truth to them. They don't seem to understand that they really were a rather mediocre club who has had some trophies bought for it by some dodgies. Well, this is how jealous I am: I don't base supporting my club on them winning things. I began supporting them the year they were relegated. The next season I had no knowledge that we would win automatic promotion - that didn't dissuade me from supporting them. When the Sheikh first took over at City, I said that as a supporter of a club whose rivals, also playing in red, had lauded it over us for decades, it would be nice for United to have a stint of having the shoe on the other foot. Unfortunately, they have handled their pass with as much grace as a baby elephant on roller-skates. The way a classless Chelsea have accumulated trophies (with more than a hint of suspicious circumstances about some of them - like the CL), had made me pretty sure that I didn't want my club to win trophies at the expense of becoming a rich person's plaything. Watching the way City fans have handled it with absolutely zero awareness, good grace or fair-minded good humour, only confirms me in my opinion that I would rather my club achieved anything it is going to achieve (or not) by following certain basics tenets - like spending only money it had generated and organic growth. I really don't see anything that classifies as jealous in this.

A certain cadre of fans - of all clubs, even our own - seem to find it impossible to understand how anyone could not share their obsession to win trophies at all costs - including emulating Chelsea and City in terms of ownership and unearned investment. My answer to that is that my brother-in-law stood on the shed when it was a corrugated shack, in the rain and the wind, when Chelsea never even got remotely near winning things. When Roman took over, he said he couldn't stand seeing his club become a rich-man's plaything (he a trade-union activist and takes these things seriously). He turned his back on them and chose the nearest non-league club to him - who he has followed ever since. So, no, not everyone would just fall in line if an oligarch bought their club. It is a myth that folk hide behind.

And now we have City fans in all seriousness talking about how to manipulate the string of clubs around the globe, that they own, to circumvent prospective FFP regulations!?! How sad.

I'm not naive, I know there has always been a certain extent of dodginess surrounding football. But this latest craze for dodgy oligarchs to own clubs and basically buy trophies while distorting the wage and transfer markets to an obscene level is beyond all reckoning.

Just goes to show how Man City has spent a ridiculous amount of money with surprisingly little success in Europe.

Pathetic club who’s owners are the worst thing to happen to English football and football in general for years imo

Fans of other clubs, both home and away fixtures should consider boycotting City fixtures. Imagine the reaction from the media and premier league when grounds are empty! Explain that one away

What makes it worse is nobody in the media ever seems to really highlight it.

Pep’s a fucking fraud
I've been saying this for years. he is the most overrated manager in world football. He's only ever worked with football's elite, so no wonder he gets results. But the second his players were a bit subpar (Munich) he stumbles. That is where the spending comes from. He needs the quality of his players to mask his own shortcomings.

And like spoiled children they wouldn’t even deal with us regarding Sancho in the summer.

Stay classy city, stay classy.

I find it quite amusing that so many of their fans play the 'You're just jealous' card. I can quite honestly say that my love of Spurs would take a massive hit if we were in their situation. I would find the obscene spending quite repugnant and as a supporter I would feel like I was on the outside looking in at some fat kid playing with his latest toys. Not a pleasant thought at all. I'm so proud of our club managing to administer the odd bloody nose whilst maintaining a minimal net spend at the same time as building what I hope will become a dynasty.

Trying to think of a strained analogy... The Damien Hirst of the football world? As in at one time, in fairness, he probably did do something that was demonstrably innovative in his field, but since then it's been increasingly about the money and the risk has gone completely from the work. Now he's into gauche displays of power and wealth, yet there are still a large number of acolytes lapping up his every utterance as something meaningful. Pep has become the coffee-table art book manager.

Despite the fact he's just as much of a short-termist chequebook manager as his old chum Mourinho.

City have only named six substitutes today. I guess they can't afford to name a seventh

Pathetic isn’t it. Clearly making a statement about the players being injured by “bad tackles” Just makes me loathe them even more. Despicable club.

I'd be really pissed off if I were One of their academy players.
