I couldn't care less, he's much more fun to listen to than Thicky Quim and the others.
Agree Barton talks the talk but can back it up intellectually. He can hold his own in any debate. I dont agree with what he says but he says what he feels.
This is the exact opposite to that Moron Quinn who cant string two sentences together to make sense. He has little or no intellectual ability and is without doubt the lowest common denominator. for the life of me cant understand why the station give him so many spots. And as for his Liverpool and Newcastle blindness its laughable.

He's terrible, but I think its his Liverpool bias is what gets him the gig.
Its his laughing at his own crap gags that really gets on my tits, i'm glad Cascarino got his weekend job, he's actually ok.

I reckon there's a private Talksport forum where all their staff members take part in a thread called "Let's all laugh at the people who listen to Talksport".

If most find it annoying why don't you just have silence? Turn it off. Or if not try a different station.

I genuinely feel radio in general has deteriorated in the past 15 years. I now very rarely, listen to anything on radio. Occasionally Spurs on 5Live , and a short trip with Capital or some other bland shite on.

I have tried to listen to talksport but find the presenters to be WUMs (which is their job) and not informative. Are their any other football-talk radio stations?

I'm with you, almost never listen to the radio any more to be honest. Don't like half the music they play, too many adverts, sport radio is full of nobhead ex-players who don't really have a clue or presenters trying to wind up fans with idiotic statements so that people call in...

I just listen to podcasts instead nowadays. Far more civilized :pompous:

I get the feeling most of the people in here that complain about the wum’s on ts are the type that struggle with the urge to call in and take the bait, personally I see it for what it is and don’t let it effect me or my mood

Same here. I don't get wound up by it, i just find it boring to listen to because it's so obvious what they're doing with the WUM stuff and I've not got much interest in listening to what some Charlie Adam has to say about our players, manager, or any subject to be honest.

As I approached the office this morning I switched on Talksport for a few mins, curious as to what their topic of discussion was yesterday (and sort if hoping it was full of upset West Ham fans). Instead I only really caught their news bulletin where two of the main headlines were:

People offended by Marks & Spencer Christmas ad; and
"Eric Dier shocks England by wanting to play for them" (that was their newsreader's actual words!).

The actual stories were that people are claiming there is a naughty word in the new M&S advert - they played the clip and he clearly says "thankyou" not "f*ck you so its a total non-story - and a soundbite from Eric Dier about how it is still a privilege to play for his country but which was introduced by the newsreader making snide comments about the number of players who have pulled out through injury.

I'm used to the station's MO being to spout rubbish to provoke a reaction, but can't remember them allowing it to taint their actual news bulletins before (and before anyone asks, the newsreader was not the Moose).

You're right. Think it annoyed me more because it came on the back of the M&S advert nonsense and both items didn't feel at all newsworthy. The whole bulletin was like the radio equivalent of the Metro.
