Ryan Mason is usually on the Final Word on a Sunday at 5pm. Unfortunately he is always stuck with that halfwit Dean Saunders. I’m sure he started laughing at one point when Saunders was rabbiting on. You can hear the frustration in his voice when arguing with him. Saunders just continually spouts about money ie Harry Kane will go to Real Madrid when offered 200k a week etc etc. Saunders must be cheap ..he offers nothing . It’s certanly been dumbed down since the owners of the sun took over two years ago. Kieran Richardson turned up yesterday morning with White I just turned off.

While i wholeheartedly agree - Dean Saunders is an absolute bellend - The obsession with money is becoming embarrassing.

It seems that it's become a race to spend the most, earn the most, and if you aren't spending money, constantly changing players and offering more and more and more wages, you're somehow failing.

The entire Talksport crew seem to do this aside from one or two (and, obvs, Max Rushden & Barry Glendenning, as they don't give a shit about football really and it's marvelous) and make it sound like there's some secret league of who spends the most. I get that they want to promote the league but it's like they will benefit financially or something from more money being poured into the game.

EVERYTHING is about spending more than the next door neighbour now. It's what youngsters are told is the most important thing in their lives, getting rich, it's demonstrated every day and society is now playing that game too. Screw being a responsible or considerate human, get money.

Get money, get money, keep money, just whatever you do make sure you get the most you possible can.

Fuck that attitude, it's what turns normal people into greedy ****s.

Just heard Redknapp. He’s right to be angry and a great little dig there re Neville’s Valencia period.

I think Neville meant the 90’s and some of the millennium. Maybe he should’ve said 15 years not 30 and make it clear that he meant poor as a team as opposed to just rubbish. We always had some great individuals but yeah the 90’s and up until Jol were instantly forgettable on the whole. I’m sure that’s what he meant.

Harry Redknapp on talksport now going mental at Gary Neville for his comments the other night

I've missed this completely. What did Neville say that had 'Arry riled up? Presumably it was on MNF but the pub I was watching it in didn't have the sound on :grumpy:

It was interesting to hear HR earlier and whilst I agree with what he said there were occasions under his reign and there still are occasions when we do bottle it. We slipped up against West Ham twice in recent seasons which cost us, not to forget the lost to Chelsea two seasons ago.
We've always been renown for being a bit 'soft', especially before Jol when we would capitulate if the oppo won a corner however over recent seasons we have changed our mindset as a club, I wouldn't say we've totally eradicated it but it's a damn sight better than fifteen years ago.
So many of us use the term "Spursy" we've even given it our own title, at least now when we are a goal or two up I'm not clinging onto the sofa for dear life praying for the final whistle!
I can understand where Neville was coming from because we need to kick on and banish the legends title however I think he needs to take a look at himself because it came across as the ramblings of someone who left his asylum short of a patient.....

Always have tie for 'arry. Always has nothing but good words for us. Bigs us up. Brought us some great football in his time and there won't be anything quite like that first CL campaign for me.

His son on the other hand...

Dunno if this is the bit ?

No it was the bit where Neville labelled our teams of the past as weak and flaky, think he even called us pathetic...he was probably talking about before Harry's time, the 90s etc, but he didn't specify and I think Harry thought he was referring to everything pre-Poch.

I never play back these clips unless it's important for me.

The signal round here is so bad I don't want to waste it unless absolutely necessary.

Lol - the thing is Neville was in his mind defeending is.

Don’t think Neville was counting the Harry years in his blunt assessment but just was caught up in making his point. Can understand why H is upset though!

Staying in the premier lge is so important now. Over half of the lge are terrified of relegation.

Staying in the premier lge is so important now. Over half of the lge are terrified of relegation.

But your place in the Premier league is not dictated by the amount you spend - your finances, unless the arse falls out of them, has no bearing whatsoever on your League status, yet it appears to be one of the most important factors to pundits and far too many fans now.

You could spend absolutely nothing and win the league, it's feasible, but apparently every window you now MUST buy new players on higher wages than last summer, else you're not trying hard enough? It has nothing to do with effort, if the players are good enough, they're good enough. If the club are stable and well run then the club are stable and well run - spending every window is not mandatory.
