I hear that often from West Ham fans...’only a few years ago we finished above Tottenham, now look at the difference’

Doesn’t quite paint the true story though. We had a poor league campaign and won a trophy that year as well as played European football. Plus one off seasons are just that usually. I mean, Leicester finished above everyone didn’t they!
We were mismanaged and underachieved for twenty odd years, which led to the likes of West Ham thinking they were on par with us. In reality they never have been, and now we’ve returned to our ‘normal’ standing, well, it’s only making their fans even more irate about the whole situation they find themselves in!

The last paragraph is right on the money.

Regarding Bilic, she’s actually nailed it in her defence! Take away Payet and they were nothing is what everyone was saying. Payet leaves and they are suddenly shit again. It’s not a coincidence!

Shame Payet wasted that year there though. He could have been at a much better club and made a real difference as opposed to leading a side to 6th/7th instead of 12th/13th.

There’s just some stuff you shouldn’t air in public.

They sacked him and she just has to stick the knife in. So very very unprofessional and makes them look even more of a laughing stock.

They’re pathetic from top down.

I don’t feel sorry for them. They have exactly who they deserve.

It’s truly amazing that they’ve always been so shit lol.Whats best ever finish they’ve had I think 3rd.Theyve Basically had the run of east London for over 100 years. And in all that time they never had even a 2 Or 3 year decent run astonishing really.Even when you look at their 20 best players it’s painfully bad when you take out likes of tevez Rio Lampard who barely played for them.Actually made me laugh they hailed Bilic as a club legend when he played for them 49 times.Literally their whole history is built around 1966 and that’s pretty much it.

They've been linked with a move for Danny Ings in the papers this weekend. Hes a good player, but the guys made six appearances in two and a half years! He's the only premier league player who rings up Andy Carroll for fitness advice. They do like to gamble on their signings don't they?

In fairness, I read a post on KUMB where the poster said that they have never really been our rivals.

Agreed but Klinsmann played just 42 league games for us (50 in total) and is considered... not far off.
It's not the number of games, it's the quality of the player they bestow the 'Legend' tag upon is pathetic, dare I say.(y)

Steffen Freund too would agree. :cautious:

My understanding is Bilic was excellent for them. He had an opportunity to go to Everton when West Ham were in a relegation battle. He stayed to the end of the season.

So while he isn't at Klinmann's level there are parallels in how they came to be so highly thought of at our clubs despite spending very little time here.

They’ve also appointed Billy McKinley his record is below:eek:
Seriously how can this guy get a job with a PL club.I wouldn’t even employ to coach a school team,Absolute farce.

McKinlay was appointed as Watford first-team coach, under head coach Óscar Garcia, on 26 September 2014.[7] McKinlay replaced Garcia a few days later as head coach, after the Spaniard resigned due to suffering from ill health.[8] McKinlay relinquished his role as Northern Ireland's assistant manager after becoming the Watford manager.[9] After just eight days in the job, McKinlay was replaced as Watford head coach by Slaviša Jokanović.[10]McKinlay had taken charge of two matches, a win against Brentford and a draw with Brighton.[10]

On 27 November 2014, McKinlay joined Spanish club Real Sociedad as an assistant coach, working alongside David Moyes.[11] He was sacked, along with Moyes, on 9 November 2015.[12]

On 30 November 2015, McKinlay was appointed as manager of Norwegian Tippeligaen side Stabæk Fotball on a two-year contract.[13] McKinlay resigned as manager on 8 July 2016, after being knocked out of the Europa League by Connah's Quay Nomads.[14]

McKinlay joined Sunderland as a scout, initially under Moyes, in 2016. In October 2017 he was promoted to a temporary first team coaching role by manager Simon Grayson when assistant manager Glynn Snodin became ill.[15] Following Grayson's sacking, McKinlay and Robbie Stockdale were appointed the club's joint caretaker managers in November 2017.[16]

Knocked out of Europa Cup by connahs quay nomads my favourite,Pretty sure that’s a pub

On Talksport: ‘Stuart Pearce has accepted a job at West Ham’

Made it sound he had accepted he was going to die.

‘Give it to me straight Doc’
‘There’s nothing more we can do, you going to West Ham’
‘I..I’m ready...’
