Felt sorry for the businesses that lost out, the fans.

I am sure most would expect the club not to do anything. They are renting the place after all. Frankly... the business juz need to survive the time period of construction of the housing development at Upton park. After that business should be fine... and it will be fine all year round... not just 20-25 days a year.

Maybe the pubs might suffer the most. But the rest should just be waiting for thing a to pick up.

The ethnic mix in and around Upton Park very Asian orientated. As of the 2011 census it was something like 36%
Indian/Pakistani and Bangladeshi.

After factoring in African and other racial groups I would carefully like to suggest that any businesses that spring up in the area
would have to be targeted to benefit these communities which are historical very insular in their dealings with big business.

That's going on the 2011 figures. I'll bet they wil show a massive increase in the mix for the 2021 census

Not only that, there are allegedly around 600k illegal immigrants in london (mainly overstaying their visas) many of whom are pakistani or bangladeshi that a large proportion are probably staying in the east end.

I'm treading very carefully on these points - I don't want to be accused of rabble rousing.

Interesting...

I just don't like shop owners whining about not having customers. If 20/25 days a year is enough for u to remain open... u shouldn't even be opening a cafe/restruant/bar etc. U should be able to survive without the football club... and the match days u earn that bonus amount that makes it worth while.

If u realise that your income depends on the football club... once they confirm the move... I would pack up shop.

In the nine-page letter obtained by Sky Sports News, Brady vowed to commit to a study which will bring seating closer to the pitch at the London Stadium.

Wonder how much that'll cost the taxpayer.
