Am I right in thinking there's some kind of financial penalty to the owners if they sell within x years of moving to the running track?

If so there's not a chance in hell they're selling up anytime soon, they'll just wait it out, this march thing is pretty pointless really.

Just reading the comments on the BBC article on the Pep only naming 6 subs thing. One of them was a guy saying it was a disgrace and that maybe Premier league teams were being racist against English players.

And ended it with "up the hammers". They really couldn't be less self aware.

The BBC comments are as bad as Facebook for attracting idiots and wums.

Ive just been Looking at their remaining fixtures and if they win all their games against the other side's in the bottom half and lose against the top seven/eight they'll finish with 43 points. Another defeat or two against any of the relegation candidates and they'll need to pull off some big results against the top teams to stay up.

That might be quite useful for us then.

Although they'd rather lose those games I suspect if it meant helping us out!

There are, but this reduces over time. For instance, if they sell it for between £200m and 300m, the penalties they have to pay drop from 20% to 12.5% five years after they sign the agreement. That date falls in March this year.

Still trying to work out why they sold Ayew??

And this is where it gets interesting. Some on KUMB think it's possible that the Board know they're going to sell in March and so are asset stripping as much as they can this window by squeezing the assets they do have. There really seems to be no other reason for weakening the squad in January when relegation is such a vivid possibility.

But, there again, this is probably just fanciful nonsense by West Ham fantasists. In their heart of hearts, they know that Sullivan will stay until his dying breath, which led to this discussion...

Optimistic Hammer:

"Wouldn't surprise me if Sullivan fails to reach the average life expectancy with the life he has led."

Pessimistic Hammer:

"We're simply not that lucky. He'll live to be 112."

Literary Hammer:

"Knowing our luck, it’ll turn out he’s part hobbit and live to 300 (*)...

... (*) and henceforth, Sullivan will be known as Dildo Baggins..."

No one seems to realise that the day these comments came out they were trying to sign Slimani from Leicester.

Maybe it is just a 'sub Saharan' thing ?

Maybe it is all just faux outrage and opprobrium ?

Maybe West Ham just pretended to want players to act big in the transfer market ?

Slimani went to Newcastle on loan but was injured so that fits West Ham's mentality ?

Who knows with the WHUL board - The Birmingham fans warned about the asset stripping and the pantomime mentality.

Maybe they were using the word African but what they really meant is black? ;)

Ahhh, that could explain their protest march being organised in March.

The ones I know are mainly deluded arseholes, convinced of a conspiracy by the FA to keep clubs like them down, while being favourable to clubs like us.
I know one or two like you mention though so who knows.

That surprises me. I come from West Ham country. My brother, neighbours and most of my friends are West Ham fans and they are all under no illusions that they’re anything but total shit.

I think the problem is that some of them really bought into all the 'next level' bullshit that the owners have sold them, they think that because they have a 60k seater stadium and are the 13th wealthiest club in europe (that's a guess but I think I'm close), they should be up there punching with the clubs at the top of the league.
No doubt they know they're in a shitty position right now but when they sacked Bilic, one of them who I work with was seriously thinking they would get Ancelotti or Simeone in as manager! I nearly shit myself laughing!
At the beginning of the season there were some of them tweeting that with us playing at Wembley this season, there was a real chance that they could finish above us this year, It's just delusional really.

Maybe it's just the few I know and I shouldn't judge them all by that, but that's my experience of them.
