I'll expect to see bids for Gelson , Riquelme, and Denilson in the summer

I cannot wait for the frenzy in kumb when they announce in the summer that they have secured the services of Ronaldo for a PL record fee.

Its a shrewd move, Evra won't be able to attack any fans at the OS...no-ones doing karate kicks after running that far.

Linked with Patrice Evra

He's 36

You'd think at some stage they'd rethink their recruitment (not in the way which was recently in the press) - they've done this a lot in recent years, signing older, expensive (wages), past it players who are unlikely to play a lot of games due to age and fitness.

They seem to supplement strategy A by overpaying for average players on the whole as a strategy B - not saying they've all been complete shite but they buy a lot of players for the handful which come good for them.

Going back to when we turned a corner under Jol, there was a clear strategy in my opinion to invest smaller fees in young, predominantly British players and build a squad capable of developing and growing. They weren't all hits but we got a bit back on some of the resale over the years and lost relatively little in terms of £££ in that time. When players came good they contributed massively to our growth and eventually could be sold for big money.

It just baffles me how WH continue to operate, year after year, manager after manager, with no defined strategy for moving forward.

Zabaletta at RB, Evra at LB.....comedy gold !!

Ha ha they'd get absolutely raped with those two oldies at full back.

Odd signing, guess it's cover as Masuaku got banned for spitting? (can't recall how long ban is?).

Cresswell should be first choice, oddly Moyes was playing him left centre back with Masuaku as the left wing back.

Byram really should be being given a run over Zabeletta too IMO.

6 game ban I believe. Given that they are out all the cups losing him for 6 league games is a funny blow.
