"There used to be a football club over there..." couldn't be more apt.

Imagine Levy texting fifteen minutes before kick off about watching something else...

As a fellow football fan I gotta feel a bit sorry for them. The "it's like looking through the wrong end of a telescope" brought back memories of being in Dusseldorf back in '87 watching England play Germany. We were at the back behind the goal, a huge running track between us and the pitch. Of our team I could only make out Shilton and Anderson. I remember thinking why oh why do they have a running track. To think 30 years later someone still thought it a good idea....

Rewind to October 1982, the Olympic Stadium and a Cup Winners Cup tie vs Bayern Munich, heavy fog stopped us seeing beyond the nearest set of goal posts. After a 20 hour coach and ferry trip it was a real kick in the 'nads.

I would have been listening to that one on the radio (as we did). Have just seen it on You Tube and I may have had a better 'view' on the radio! I don't think they'd play it these days.

Those were the days; the Spurs bench actually was one very long bench. Have to smile.

Saggers on talksport has got the hump because he reckons from where he is expected to report from today, at the OS, he is literally a quarter of a mile from the touchline...and he's not even at the back of the stadium :ROFLMAO:

We followed the game by looking at the electronic scoreboard behind us to see when a goal was scored.

I don't think you are exaggerating. I was at another 80's game in Bremen where we couldn't see the far end of the pitch at all due to the fog. Come the final whistle my friend gets up to leave not realizing there had been a late equalizer and extra time was coming. There wasn't a scoreboard and he really didn't notice the fans celebrating at the other end! The 80's...

That article says it costs £323million just to convert the stadium for football. Outrageous that Johnson and Coe agreed to pay that AND ask for less rent than the policing and stewarding costs just to get a “legacy” for their own political careers. Corrupt or incompetent?

Banners at today's game but Getty image on BBC so can't post here.

Spammer fans still not happy with Butt, Plug and Lady Boy (my new names for you-know-who!)
