Down to 17 senior players. And only 1 of the injured is short term obiang. Arnautovic playing in pain if he snaps they are in big trouble imo. Plus I doubt there is much cash left for January. They tease us every year with relegation. Fingers crossed ?

We will obviously play our second string team against them in the league cup next week, but I hope they are up for it and put in a performance. I seek revenge.

I guess Levy could claim it is state aid which is against EU rules.
They've had a £40m loan off Newham - written off now, and effectively £10m pa off of E20.
I guess it could be argued the £8m pa needed to retract the seating benefits British Athletics rather than Wham, but once they are out of the equation, then it seems a clear cut case.

But we've had funding from the taxpayer to spruce up the area, so I'm not sure we'd be throwing too many stones. I think we've been bought off to an extent.
Plenty of other clubs/fans are not too happy about things at the OS though, so hopefully someone complains.

What gets me is this stadium is effectively worthless because of the crazy concession terms to Wham. That is another £500m effectively written off - money that belongs to charities as the lottery funds were raided to the tune of £425m to build the thing in the first place and that needs paying back right now.

All because Tony Blair wanted to be the 'big I am' and show the world how great he was while underfunding an illegal war.

People keep saying this but on what grounds could Levy sue them? Yes his idea to knock it down and build a football stadium, then build a more sensibly sized athletics facility at Crystal Palace was a much beter idea than what they've gone with in the end, but as far as I'm aware having a proposal turned down in favour of another plan that turns out to be worse isn't any kind of grounds for a legal case is it?

I accept that the whole deal with West Ham absolutely reeks either of virtually criminal incompetence or just outright corruption (especially Seb Coe's links to the redevelopment of the site in CP) but what does any of that have to do with Levy and what would he actually be suing them for?

In order to remove any chance of us winning they made the track staying a requirement as part of any winning bid I believe. Levy was keen on the 99 year guarantee of the track staying there if the bid was going their way.

They can’t simply revert to what was essentially our initial bid, when it was lambasted and laughed out of sight at the time! Levy and his team ensured guarantees were put in place to prevent West Ham from simply doing what we apparently wanted to do.

Even if you put the loans and the backhanders and the conversion (both one off and reoccuring) which all ammounts to several hundred million pounds to one side . We still know that the going rate to rent a "World class stadium" is £20M a year, £2M a year is a bloody joke.

Whilst in theory you are correct, sometimes you want a tenant just so you have someone there. It keeps the pipes working and stops illegal squatters. They tendered out the stadium and West Ham best suited their requirements. They are kind of like "property guardians" doing a bit of house sitting rather than actual renters.

Can't they? Genuine question but is there actually any law against it? And I don't really understand what Levy could possibly have "put in place" to make sure the athletics track stays. Surely whoever owns the stadium/land can decide to do what they want with it and I don't understand how someone who offered to buy it years ago but didn't can dictate to them what they do with it. That just doesn't make any sense to me.

Happens all the time at Wembley. You have to hold me back sometimes.
Just look at them, smiling, enjoying their day, and engaged in polite conversation with others, it's fucking criminal. You know they're just there to cause trouble, especially him, coming mob-handed with his mum.

(For the record, not digging you out, I know you were being sarcastic).

So you've sacked off your old rivals because they're below you

You've invented a new rivalry

Your captain has talked the game up with BS about 'similar starts'

The game is at home

The game is straight after an international break when your captain and most of the team have had a nice two-week rest. Conversely, the vast majority of your rivals played twice, including their star striker who was already knackered.

Several other players in your rivals' team are also knackered, having not had a proper rest after the World Cup

Your rivals are missing their main defender who was in Team of the Season last year. Your rivals are also missing two England internationals and have four international players on the bench, because none of them are fit enough to play 90 minutes.

Your rivals struggled to beat one of the worst teams in the league in their last fixture

You spent nigh on £100m on new players in the close season. Your rivals spent fuck all.

The referee has a perfect view of a red card offence by one of your players and doesn't even give a foul.

Despite all this, you still lose 1-0.

So what do you do?

You go back to your old rivals...

I was watching that on bt sport. You couldn't see any of the fighting but the whole crowd had turned round and was looking back up.

I should initially point out that I, in no way, had any involvement or contribution to this tender process or anything related to the Olympic stadium and grounds, nor should any of my comments be presumed in a professional or work related capacity (i.e. I know bugger all about it).

I believe the basic premise is that any tender process for a Government contract has to be via fair and open competition. The criteria for tender are weighted so that the winning bid should score highly on the most essential criteria (i.e. financial cost to Government, Viability, contribution to local community etc). If the bid review deemed the Olympic Legacy and retention of the running track to be an essential criteria (which appears likely as I can't imagine their bid would beat ours in any other criteria) for a winning bid then binning it now could deem the tender process void and/or illegal and/or corrupt........and leave it open for public challenge.

Presumably, Levy could then sue for costs in the Spurs bid, lost revenue, and opportunity costs incurred in being forced to develop Spurs existing location.......I would assume those costs to be substantial.

It's three days after the game and time for the Twitter accounts to highlight some of the key pieces of skill from the weekend's match.

Beyond the Lamela goal, Spurs Official have gone for a montage of Winks' neat flick, Lucas' cute backheel, Hugo's fingertip save and Ben Davies nutmegging Mark Noble. Fair enough.

But what of West Ham? Having lost, they can either

(a) try to forget the game and focus on the next match instead

or (b) try to ignore the result and pick out some key pieces of skill from the West Ham team for their fans to admire.

They went for (b) and this is what they came up with...

Judging by the comments, I think West Ham fans would have preferred option (a).

A lovely 20 second in which West Ham don’t touch the ball. Top stuff guys

This admin is embarrassing

Please stop tweeting

Congrats on the running around a bit trophy

Running like a headless chicken for 20 seconds, out of his position, without actual chance of touching the ball. Wow

He almost nearly did something there. Top marks.

"We love this from Snoddy"

So the best clip they could find from the game was them trying and failing to press Lloris?

I preferred the bit at the end when, having finally won the ball, their player immediately fell over...
