I think the question is, did Jose do well to get 2nd place and ~80 points last season, or is that their level and he's causing poor performances this season?

To me, their squad lacks quality. No right winger, no top class striker, no really notable defenders, Matic is a donkey. The only players there to build a team around are Martial, De Gea, and Pogba (although he definitely has attitude problems). Sanchez should theoretically be much better though. Why is it that literally almost every player they've signed in the last 5 years has not lived up to their hype/potential? Bad scouting? Or just a team that is not set up to play in a style that allows them to flourish. How is it possible that all their signings are total garbage. Some of them have gone to other clubs and done well (Depay, for example).

I don't think Jose is necessarily holding those players back, I just think they aren't good enough. But they need a manager who can implement a vision for the club, so I think they should probably sack Jose and I think they will sooner than later.
Their squad lacks quality and they havent got a striker???
Disagree totally.
Sanchez, Rashford, Martial and Lukaku is not having a decent striker????
Pogba, Mata, DeGea, Shaw, as you say, are top quality players.
A better man manager would get them flying instantly.
Telling them publicly that they are all shit and you've only got 2 decent players is not the way to get a tune out of the modern footballer. Not the way to get a tune out of anyone in any walk of life imo. Just piss poor man management. Thats whats really wrong here imo.
Long may it continue.

Eight points off the top four, sixteen points off the top, negative comments about the players and the club every week... He'll be sacked as soon as they're out of the Champions League

Mourinho today has been complaining about injuries and having to rotate his team.

I then listened to an “expert” on the radio saying that he was making excuses and that he doesn’t know his best team.

It made me think. We said the same about Poch earlier this season when he kept on changing team selection and formation every game and we thought it was effecting performances. Well, what if the same thing is happening at Man Utd. They had lots of players in the latter stages at the World Cup so are in the same position as us in that regard.

Maybe the reason they are doing so badly is because they are in exactly the same position player wise as we are, it’s just that Poch is managing it better because he’s a better man manager, better in front of the camera and he has a team that have played together for longer and so they know the manager and each other better hence we have won more games.

I agree he's got a lot of the same problems we have and early season we got lucky in a few games. We could of easily dropped more points and be sat where they are. Poch's got us firing now though, remains to be seen if Mourinho can break his third season hoodoo. It's been discussed at length how players give him the benefit of the doubt as they see a chance to win things with him in charge but after a couple of years of it they get pissed off and down tools. One problem he's got that Poch doesn't is even his mediocre players are on high wages and can afford to be lazy. At Spurs the players know they need to consistently perform to see that sort of money.

Mate, they been playing utter dross and having games where they dont have a shot on target.
Yes we've been lucky in a few games but who hasn't?
Liverpool v Everton was shit lucky.
Arsenal have got more points from scoring in last few minutes than any fker.
We haven't been as hot as we can be due to various reasons but comparing us to them, I dont see it.

What do you mean, it’s brilliant!

We need them to beat Liverpool 100%. No other result will be good enough.

When your club is in a mess Maureen is not the solution. He needs to be gone before the club can make any progress. But I fear where they may look for the solution.

Eh? Why would you want Liverpool to win? Regardless of your feelings towards certain players at Utd, it's undoubtedly better for Tottenham, the team you actually support, if Liverpool lose because we're in direct competition with them, whereas Man Utd have already fallen too far back to be relevant to us whatsoever now

MOTD yesterday during the Watford game “a win today moves them to within 2 points of the top 6

Or to within 10 points of the top 5....

Mourinho really has been a car crash at Man U. I do not know how he gets away with stealing a living there. He's spent something like £360M in just over two years, and that's after inheriting top quality players like Martial, Mata, Rashford and De Gea. He spent close to £80M buying two new CBs (Bailly and Lindelof), and now says he cannot trust his defence. He has spent £89M on Pogba, £40M on Matic, and £52M on Fred and yet his midfield is all over the place and cannot dominate games. He bought Mikhitaryan for a massive fee and failed to integrate him, a year or so later he swapped him for Alexis Sanchez (and spends close to £500k per week on his wages) and cannot integrate him either. He spent £75M on Lukaku and he's turned into an embarrassing footballer who has a heavy first touch and cannot score, mainly as Mourinho's tactics do not play into his strengths (he needs balls played into channels for him to run onto). Young players like Shaw, Lingard, Pogba, Rashford, have all gone backwards. How can they give him another £200M to rebuild this car crash of a project?
