Going to have this hanging over us until a permanent appointment is made so we'll have to get used to it.

Not so sure, I was banking on Jose being the main reason Toby wouldn't go to Utd

Oh for sure, I'd agree that it was unlikely that Jose was the main pull for Toby, just wondering how much bearing it would've had in his thinking. Surely the manager you play for has to be part of your consideration.

Well, its not like sacking Mourinho solves their back line problems. It may mean that United do not do any business in January, but I would imagine they will look at Toby again in the summer, if he is still available for £25M

I'm sure plenty will look at Toby in the summer if we've not resolved his contract renewal. Rightly so. But again, surely whomever they appoint will have a bearing in Toby's decision.

Let's hope that Poch decides to come out with a statement saying he is fully committed to his Tottenham dream and has no intention of taking over at Man Utd. One thing about the guy is his honesty....if he says he's stopping I'll believe him.

More likely that he will dodge the question, not necessarily because he would consider going there (he may/may not) but he's not the sort to make these grand statements.

Chances are at the presser he will tell the journos, politely at first, to move on and that get frustrated and starting talking to Jesus pretending he doesn't understand.

Perez, not the soon to be Birthday boy. FYI.

he already did on Friday, but it won't stop the speculation sadly.

Reports on Friday claimed that United are readying a big money approach for Pochettino to replace Jose Mourinho next summer.

The Argentine, who signed a bumper new five-year deal reported to be worth £8.5m a year, in May played down the speculation and said he couldn't be happier in north London.

"I don't know [about that]. The most important thing is I feel so happy here. Tottenham has given me the value. I feel happy here in Tottenham because I feel the recognition for our job. We feel that," he said.

"When Daniel Levy extended my contract for five years, it is because he believed in that moment and period, we are the best people to manage this boat and this club. It is recognition for us.

"I don't need to listen about what goes around and when people say "We are nice guys and maybe we know something about football." The most important thing is how you are made to feel in your home."

I'm awaiting a statement from his spokesperson...Danny Rose.

There is a huge rebuilding job to be done at Man Utd, work that Poch has already 'under his belt' at Spurs. I just think he sees what's happening at Tottenham as his own 'personal' project and is drooling at the thought of next season with a New Stadium and once again Champions League football to look forward to. There are so many positives for staying but numerous ponderables and dark shadows lurking at Old Trafford.

I hope so. He doesn't seem to normally make a big deal of doing things like that when linked with another job.

No way Poch rules himself out of it when asked today. He didn’t when Madrid came up. He just said he will concentrate on spurs and not talk about rumour. It’s his stock answer

Mourinho has well and truly lost his magic.

At Chelsea he lost the dressing room completely after winning the league (starting with his rude treatment of their hottie doctor).

And he's lost it at Man U again.

You can see the gaps all over their squad.

He hasn't addressed the full back positions and keeps playing Young and Valencia there rather than get proper specialist full backs. He has Shaw but even then abused the shit out of him (whether Shaw says it was tough love or not it was still bad and not really way to go about things in public)/

He bought a duffer in Lindeloff summer before last and then was crying this summer about not being able to buy another centre back (and also seems to have ruined Bailly's confidence as well in process).

Jones / Greening there are question marks over and no seeming attempt to shift them out.

NO RIGHT MIDFIELDER???

Why did they bring in Sanchez when already had Martial, Wellback and Lingard who are all better out left?

Fred hasn't made a mark and Matic, one of his men and usually a very solid professional is playing poorly.

He just couldn't get the best out of Pogba (fault on both sides there although Mourinho has handled it in public really badly).

I don’t think he’ll go, and you’re right that there are many things to consider at United but a squad that finished second in the league just months ago, is in the UCL knockouts, and has been sitting out their £100m midfielder is hardly a “huge rebuilding job.”

I reckon Zidane until end of the season and permanently if it works out....if not they come for Poch....but I have faith he wouldn't leave the club now...far too much to look forward to.

Best case scenario.

If he gets interim this is likely to happen imo.

True as long as Levy makes Pochettino feel the club's backing him with everything it can.

Personally I would walk over hot coals to get Thomas Tuchel. I'm surprised Ancellotti is not in the mix

I suspect a lot of people will disagree with me but personally I think Tuchel is massively overrated.

Besides, they've just got rid of a manager who can't get along with anybody so bringing in Tuchel won't help that situation given his notorious ability to not get on with anyone.

On top of that he's only just joined PSG, presumably on massive wages, so it'd cost a fortune to buy him out of his contract I suspect.
