One positive aspect, which was mentioned on Talksport and that is that top jobs come up relatively frequently these days and so managers aren't necessarily going to think that if they don't take the job now then that's their chance gone forever.
... and this confirms the "managerial circus" approach, where a small number of celebrity coaches are prepared to whore themselves around high profile European clubs, regardless of any expectation of job security. There really aren't many clubs left that have the patience to pursue a genuine strategy.

On top of that he's only just joined PSG, presumably on massive wages, so it'd cost a fortune to buy him out of his contract I suspect.
If that's a reason he's not coming then Poch certainly won't be going there either.

Steve Bruce until the end of the season :woot:

As a long standing and fervent supporter of Welsh football I sincerely hope that they make an acceptable offer to Ryan Giggs and he relinquishes his current post (y)(y)

In all seriousness, given some of the numpties who've got the nod at Utd, it's always puzzled me why one of their best defenders historically, isn't sufficiently well thought of there to get a shot at it.

in that case, why did his social media team not stop the post going live when Jose was sacked? Its probably one of his most successful social media posts ever everyone is talking about it and Adidas, it is social media marketing at its best.
Which is exactly why it’s clear that Pogba didn’t do it :cautious:

Hasn't anybody tipped Timmy?

Oh come on. Let's look at the situation dispassionately.

A big club with a glorious history have just sacked their manager.

This manager was a miserable Portuguese bloke who initially flattered to deceive.

But who then oversaw some of the most horrendous, sterile, joyless football ever witnessed.

Even though this ran completely counter to the attacking traditions of the club who employed him.

Until the final straw in mid-December with an embarrassing defeat against, of all teams, Liverpool.

Now, given all that, can you think of any chairman worth his salt who would think 'I know, I've had a cracking idea. I'll give the job to Tim Sherwood."

No, me neither.

Yeah I guess, but I'm not sure that's the case in England at least. Man City won't sack Pep so it's just a matter of when he leaves, I think Klopp will be at Liverpool long term, same with Poch here unless he decides to leave, Arsenal will stick with Emery for a while, and Sarri is doing well at Chelsea (although yes he's unlikely to last more than 3 years). The Man Utd job is a huge opportunity for any manager imo.

For me the most amazing thing in all of this is that the media and pundits seem surprised at how Maureens reign ended.
I'm not. I knew it would happen. Called it before season started.
The media seem to brush what happened at Chelsea under the carpet. It rarely gets a mention.
Personally I'm gutted he has gone as I thought he was doing a fantastic job.
Levy won't let Poch go anyway and Poch is not the kind of guy to spit his dummy out. He's also not stupid so will use this as leverage during the summer transfer window and even this window and wont make a statement denying any interest.
Someone on TS txt in and said funny how you guys keep blasting Poch for never winning anything and yet when a position comes available at one of the biggest clubs going, who demand success more than anyone, he's the first name you leap at!

On the plus side Levy might get the cheque book out for this transfer window as a show of support for Poch.

Wenger would tick a lot of boxes - Premier league experience, seems to be respected by Sir Alex, available, got the best out of Sanchez, countryman of Pogba, Champions League experience, etc.

Does anyone think that they might go totally left field and go for someone like Jupp Heynckes?
