I think there’s been a massive over reaction to mourinho’s time at Man Utd. I bet he’s a success in the next job he has. There’s a reason why him, van gaal and moyes all struggled at Man Utd and I bet the next guy does too.

He had better points won stats than his two predecessors ..

Red Cafe not upset by that at all by the looks of it, no reason they should be either. I imagine he'll do alright settling down the current choppy waters in the dressing room and that's all he needs to do right now. I think it's been pretty obvious that there was no love for the way Jose wanted them to play and Ole will be much more flexible, i'm certain of that.

Weird for Solskjaer leaving a permanent manager job for an interim one.

He's a legend over there and had some of his best and happiest years playing for them.
The learning experience will be massive - United compared to Molde is two different worlds.

Must be hard to turn down one of the biggest clubs in the world as well

I understand why people doubt OGS, but I see this appointment a bit like Sherwood. Things are messy, personalities are out of control. Someone comes in to almost plant the seed of change. He was never a long term option (horrible at the media side) but he actually had the right ideas with youth and sorting out the culture.

Its clear they will have a fresh slate at the end of the season and managerial options will be more open. I imagine no one from within has any experience to take the job (and Carrick didn't want it).

Tim Sherwood?

He was awful with the culture. Players were ready to revolt.

Not to mention, Sherwood and all of his supporters considered him to be the full-time manager, it was not until his contract was terminated in the summer that he realized he was simply a caretaker.

If OGS is anything like Sherwood, then United have not found the bottom yet - but its coming.

I disagree and I really disliked Sherwood. He was horrible in certain aspects. It was before my time on here so maybe theres hidden behind the scenes stuff I am not aware of.

I do remember him continually talking about changing the way we would be as a club and using young players. Funnily enough, when a fancy manager with a decent grasp of man management came along, he took three months then did just that.

Don't want to take this thread on a complete tangent though. Weird of United to seemingly write off a season though.

Tactics tim is a ****. Mr second to none. The ultimate snake. Fuck him.

Can Utd please hire him? The pure entertainment aspect and watching them continue to be a burning pile of shit for a few more months before Poch leaves for them this summer would be funny.

I have a lot of sympathy for Carrick in this. Given that he came out and explained his problems with anxiety and depression only a few weeks ago, he's clearly not going to be comfortable taking the top job at a club like United, even on a caretaker basis.

What are the odds that Mourinho will be back at Inter now that Spaghetti failed to get them out of the CL group?

Ole has been given a chance to put himself in the window of a shop that he used to work at, which just happens to be one of the biggest and most viewed windows there is.

This is a huge opportunity for him to get noticed and offered a top job if he does well but, in the long run, he's got nothing to lose. The fans love him, he brings memories of some incredible glory times, the players, I hope, will respect him and all he needs to do is go into the dressing room and tell everyone this is a new start, pack in all their dumb bullshit and now it's time to go out and prove to the world that it wasn't the players who sent the club swerving toward a ditch.
