I dont wanna hear we are n17, we are n17 anymore, if the majority of spurs fans were to sit down and actually analyze the situation we are in then there would be no real anger against a move away from white hart lane.

The facts are:

The transport links in tottenham are shocking with 36000 fans, with any increase near 60000 fans the area would be crippled.

The area is an absolute dump, im from tottenham and the amount of money needed to regenerate the area would go into billions.

David Lammy MP wants spurs to invest heavily into tottenham but at what cost.

A lot of fans are saying they wouldnt go to stratford to support spurs, well are they really spurs fans? I would travel anywhere to watch spurs because they are in my blood.
I work near stratford and so much money has gone into the area that it is simply amazing, and spurs will demolish that crappy bowl of cement and build a super stadium, with the best transport links in europe.

Will i miss the lane? of course so many fond memories.

However times change and its time to move on.

The most sensible and realistic post I've seen on the subject!

We all have fond memories of White Hart Lane but for us to stay there will cripple us financially and we will not be able to invest in the squad in the way we have in the last 5-10 years.

Let's face it Haringey Council are doing their best to drive the club away and it will cost them dearly, Tottenham will become a ghetto!

Dind1971.....I fully agree with you mate, even with all the happy memories I have of the Lane, if we really want to keep progressing and being able to attract a 60,000 strong crowd we have to move.

I would follow Spurs through fire, through blood and through tears.

Five miles to Stratford really doesn't compare.

The only thing that I would say is that Daniel Levy should be giving us more information. Not for some 'we deserve to know' reason, but because it's actually in his best interests if he genuinely wants to go to Stratford.

If his reasons are good enough then most Spurs fans would probably accept them. If they're not good enough, it doesn't make a difference because he'll probably go through with the move regardless.

Spurs moving to Stratford will not be the end of the club. It will continue. White Hart Lane will become part of our history just like the rest of it. Do we really want our memories of it to be soured by all this anger?

If we stay, great. If we move, that's no problem. We need to be adults about this. If Stratford will secure another 128 years of glory, then I have no objection.

I would go to Stratford but prefer to stay in Tottenham.
But can we get one thing right to all the "area is a shithole" merchants, I worked in Stratford for 14 years as deprived inner city areas go it is worse than N17 even if it will have new rail links and a Westfield.
Also I don't really see how anyone can denounce the area that is clearly an important part of our history.

Become bigger club than Arsenal, be able to keep players like Modric, Bale and VDV and given them higher wagers, better transport links and more publicity-Say yes to statford

Great post.

hear hear mate

Facts?

All of those who would question other Spurs fans' loyalty because they don't want to go to Stratford, not only need to look up the definition of what a fact is, but you are completely out of order. If there's going to be any division over this issue it's not going to be over the, admittedly sometimes heated, debate we have over the move, but it will be over idiotic views like this.

I completely agree with this, he should be honest about the reasons, financial or otherwise. Us fans deserve to know all the facts.

No, the transport links aren't that great, but back in the 60s we accommodated 60,000 with no Victoria Line.

The area is an absolute dump, im from tottenham and the amount of money needed to regenerate the area would go into billions.

It's not that great, but 'absolute dump'? You don't have to go far to find worse. Stratford, for instance.

I live in Tottenham, and have done since 1977.

Billions? Sure, whatever.

David Lammy MP wants spurs to invest heavily into tottenham but at what cost.

He wants Spurs to keep to Levy's word of just a few months ago. There's no question of Spurs investing in any more than what was outlined in the NPDP.

A lot of fans are saying they wouldnt go to stratford to support spurs, well are they really spurs fans? I would travel anywhere to watch spurs because they are in my blood.

So what was your opinion of the NPDP? And did you not notice that there are several other threads on this topic?

SS57, you are being facetious, you know full well when we held 60000 in the stands the majority of fans walked to the stadium as they were local. Now most of us travel a few miles or more to get to games.

Levy made a promise like all businessmen do, when it suited the need. Do you think Lammy is a saint brought down to lift Tottenham from poverty & deprevation? He's made promises too to get elected, I assume he's followed through on all of them? If Levy gets Spurs a bigger stadium with little impact on future purchasing power and it returns greater revenue then he should be applauded.

So what if its not in Tottenham? Most of us aren't as you can see by the huge issues with transport on game day.

But, you've just agreed with the opening post saying you would travel anywhere to watch Spurs play, but not to Tottenham on a crowded match day it would seem.

i dont care if u lived in tottenham since 77 i lived there since 71 and moved out to pastures new because it is a dump and that is a fact. stratford has had so much money pumped into it that tottenham will never get, Lammy is trying to hold us over a barrel because he knows if spurs leave tottenham , it will be wasteland.

Levy has the right intentions and I am comfortable with his ideas, if we dont get stratford we will move somewhere else anyhow.

chavland ha ha ha u crack me up, imo u are living in the past, whether u like it or not we will move from the lane. so why dont u embrace it, learn to live with it.
its degenerates like you that hold this great club back, we need to move to a bigger stadium fact.

tottenham as a borough has nothing to offer in terms of a new potential site, there are poor transport links and the area is in need of regeneration.

as arry would say its a no brainer
