I have to say that, as a travelling fan, I agree with the OP.

I try to get over to as many games as possible (I'm in Northern Ireland) and it is an absolute shambles trying to get to The Lane compounded by the fact I have to walk the last part (fuck knows how far) through what can only be described as bandit country.

Bearing in mind I have lived all my life in Northern Ireland, it really says something that I was scared shitless the first time I had to walk through the area.

Mind you, I will admit that once inside there is no other football ground in the UK quite like White Hart Lane!!

Bloody hell someone from Northern Ireland calling Tottenham bandit country! I know what you mean though mate but having unfortunately spent a considerable part of my working life in Stratford I can confirm it is worse than Tottenham. I suppose if you stick to the man roads in core hours it should be safe but any variance from that and you'll have fond memories of Bandit country. better

The difference being that the current area will remain shitsville, whereas stratford is being massively regenerated.

Is it?
It'll have a Westfield and good transport links but I really can't see anything else.

1) Don't then. I'm sure these "JCL's" (otherwise known as Spurs members) will be glad they can get a seat. I don't think we've been successful enough to have a wave of glory hunters start supporting the club.

2) They were probably trying to get tickets for WHL.

3) I suppose the easiest way for us to stay in Tottenham is to double the ticket prices.

I love this club, but some people cant differenciate between the club and the area.

1. Spurs members my arse. These are the same people who moan like fuck when they can't get a wembley ticket. It wasn't that long ago a JCL was sat near me and was wondering if Denilson was playing :bang:. There are loads at the Lane already, why do you think the atmosphere is far less intimidating now then a few years ago?
2. Tickets for Spurs have always been available even now, your statement is bollocks and you know it, or are you one of those from the first paragraph?
3. Redevelop the east and west stands, save a skip full of cash and get somewhere near the 58000 the NDP was giving us.
It won't happen because Tottenham isn't a fashionable enough area for AEG to promote their new venue.

WE ARE TOTTENHAM FROM THE LANE!!

SIR Bill Nick, spend his life in Tottenham. He lived until his dying day with his wife Darkie within a stones throw from the ground. Without him 90% of you wouldn't even be on here.

Tottenham he said "was in his blood." Not Stratford.

at the ground, I speak to those who have turned up for years and they are heartbroken at the thought of tearing up the memories when a new ground in Tottenham IS a possiblity.

I spoke to a bloke who has been on the waiting list for 3 years and he says he would gladly wait another ten if it meant not moving out of our spiritual home.

YES Tottenham is a hole...but that is part of it. No where for away fans to drink. Beer like piss in the Brickies?

You want to give that up for a gaucho grill and a TGI Fridays? Give me the Chick-King anyday.

We are Tottenham and we should stay in Tottenham.

Haha it's funny but at the same time sad Because it's coming

This is it,spurs are desperate to get away from WHL,even going to a place the fans hate...

From the boards point of view i think anywhere would do if its going to save them money.

Your guess is as good as mine mate.

Could be anywhere if people are happy moving across London they will be happy moving anywhere if it creates bigger revenue

My opinion on this matter quite rightly won't hold any value. Like Montasura, I am a travelling fan (Scotland to be precise), so i'm not that arrogant to preach either way on the subject. I do however have a few questions so I can get clued up about the situation.

When attending games at the lane over the last few years, I have found it's relatively easy to get to WHL. The first time I went, I was on my own and when I got off the underground, I just followed the fans. Wasn't expecting that long a walk though! Am I just being naive, but I don't see the area around WHL to be that bad?? Maybe it's just what i'm used to but there are many parts of Glasgow that are FAR worse than round there. I didn't feel uneasy at all.

Anyway, I'm getting a bit off point. My main questions are: geographically, how far from WHL is Stratford? And is the Stratford site easier to access than WHL?

As I said earlier, I have no right to preach on where the stadium is located as I'm not a local, but I think we can all agree that we need a bigger stadium to compete.

 I'm going to have to rep you for this.

I come down from Notts for games and have found it easy to get to games. The people that experience the most problems are those who drive to the stadium. I usually park at a station a bit further away from the area (I park at Rayners Lane as it's where I'm from so I know how to get there even when tube lines are closed) then get the Met Line & Victoria Line to Seven Sisters, which takes about an hour at most then walk to the stadium. Personally I like the walk to WHL as it builds the anticipation (especially when I was a child) and it isn't a taxing walk. The walk is long but at least it isn't the continuous stop start walk you get at Wembley.

As for the area being a dump, yes it is but it isn't even the worse place in North London. If people want to see a real shit hole then they should see some parts of Neasden.

Personally I hope Spurs stay at the Lane as the area is a key part of our history. But if Levy can show staying isn't an option then I fully support the club's actions to move. However, I will always oppose the move to the OS. We rip on Arsenal for them moving onto our patch and now we're looking to do the same to West Ham. Newham council don't want Spurs at the OS and chances are the majority of people in Stratford don't want us there.

If we don't get Stratford I hope we don't move. Think it's just Levy trying to scare the fans into being quiet about Stratford (better the devil you know and all that). If we don't get it (which is what it looks like) then Levy needs to go begging to Joe Lewis for cash to build the NDP. He's about to kop it in the next 5-10 years so what better legacy than the Joe Lewis stadium?
If not get the Qatari's in, build the NDP, build a tube station near the ground and get a couple of players in, keep Levy as Chairman job done.
