The winding up petition has been dismissed now, but it still sounds absolutely desperate...

http://m.bbc.co.uk/sport/football/40246146

Adam Michaelson, legal advisor to LOFT, said: "We're not in a position to say what is going on. The communication we've had is absolutely zero.

"All we know is what we can see, which is nine junior professionals, no seniors, no access to a training ground, no shirts, no training tops, and they're due back in pre-season in the first week of July."

With all the mega-millions in the game, this sort of thing is really not necessary. Come on PL, FA etc., stop behaving as though all you can do is hand out fines and punishments and collect more cash for the big clubs and do something positive to help.

someone slept with Francesco Becchetti's wife, daughter & son in a 4 way and he was an Orient fan, that's all I can think of why he'd be so vindictive. It must cost him surely as local planning won't want to sanction a stadium demolition / conversation into flats for a few years until the resentment has subsided.

He doesn't even own the stadium. This just seems like pure spitefulness because the fans showed their dissatisfaction with him.

No senior professionals?

That is really bad...

Owners like him should have action taken against them as just shouldn't be allowed to buy a club (having been put through the FA's supposedly stringent checks) and then fuck them over like this.

Not having any senior players is bad enough but only 9 youth players is even worse when taking into context it's Leyton Orient, who have had a pretty solid youth system and bought a lot of players through so their powers that be have just basically binned a whole youth system. Disgraceful.

This is a board that has managed to see a mid-level Doughnut and Ice Cream outlets through some real tough times, never dominating their markets, but still going and still doing alright against the likes of gimmicky but popular Ben & Jerry's and Krispy Kreme style giants. The signs are good.

While i don't believe a word of the "lifelong O's fan" business, i can appreciate his enthusiasm and hope they can work the same magic at Orient and get them back into the league by this time next year.

Future's bright at Brisbane Road (y)

I wonder what the fans trust will do with all the money they've raised now?

Very good news.

They've appointed Martin Ling as director of football too; he was the one who got them into league 1 and laid foundations for recent years success until Becchetti came in and undid it all.

Surprised he wasn't appointed manager, although he stepped down from last managerial job st Swindon for health reasons so perhaps he prefers something a little less front-line.

Now they just gotta get a first team coach and some actual players!

And Ling should hopefully kick start their successful youth academy again.

They should re-sign Omozusi next - quality right-back who played well for them during his two spells (he was in nick inbetween lol) but did a lot of good work with their community after his release from prison.

They shouldn't have let him go as their replacement right-backs were nowhere near the quality.

They've re-signed David Mooney, who was a very good player for them.

Good experienced striker that will hopefully get them some goals.

Plus signed Joe Widdowson (who I admit I've not heard of) - a left-back from Dagenham & Redbridge.

Released following clarification re: their squad too.

A very small list but at least they have some players to build on.

That's really encouraging news. Thanks for posting.

Now I want them to be get promoted back into the league and be successful enough that we can start taking the piss again!

@Rocksuperstar it sounds like he really is a fan.:

https://www.theguardian.com/football/2017/jun/30/leyton-orient-new-owner-nigel-travis-liverpool

"The bond to Orient now spans four generations of his family, from his mother and father to his children and grandson, and he mentions how the club honoured his father with the Roland Travis commemorative clock, which is located in the executive suite at Brisbane Road. “My dad was coming here until he was 90,” Travis says."

It's incredible reading that how low they had sunk. He sounds like he's the right man for the job. Good luck to him.
